I have the non-copy blue and it's not too shabby! Erases really well so I'll keep playing with it. The pastels are fun but reeeeaally different than charcoal. I think I'm gonna start with a run of the mill flower first...face laaaast

@Qween: well I added the armour with codes... haven't got that far to get the armour in game... ![]()
What are you drawing with the pastel? It's with background then? Wow...
Are you using special paper or it can be done with normal sketch paper?
Well anyway I'm jumping on the hype train with Dishonour 2... currently try this on speed painting mode

Here is further progress on the Dalish dancer; I worked the darkest shadows and highlights first and then midtones, and I like it better than the other way around which was how I was working lately.
I'm planning on giving it a touch of colour by drawing the vallaslin with colour pencil and colouring the charms hanging from his belt; how do you think it will work out?

The mouth's too low, but I've been painting it on the same layer as the rest of the face so well... O.o

Ohhh and now on to animals! I was never able to properly draw horses, they always look like rabbits or dogs
Yours does really look like a horse, well done!

Moved to start drawing scenes ![]()
Thanks Vor, that one was heavily based on a reference (that emblematic scene from War Horse) so it's easier to keep the proportions XD (even if the hands are still AAAARGGGGGHHH!). And I got help from thesecondseal since she knows horses pretty well, that version I put above isn't the first one. IT's probably like the 5th correction.
Did you tried drawing horses from real life or from photos?

I mostly tried drawing horses from imagination (it's a long time since I last tried) and well, I haven't seen many horses in real life so it showed in the results ![]()

Aah ok, how about using references? I went to see some horses today to see how they really are IRL, but it's IMPOSSIBLE to draw them like that they are always moving. So well, references ![]()
Well, version 2... There's no direct reference for this one so it's really a struggle for the proportion & foreshortening O.o

The foreshortening of the forearm (hello alliteration
) looks quite nice, but you drew the shoulder in a complete 3/4 position. Shouldn't the torso be a bit more rotated in order to achieve that position of the arm, and the shoulder a bit down? (you can look at yourself in the mirror to check how the shoulders, torso, etc. change when you rotate your arm that way)

Oooh you're right about it! I'm correcting that, thanks a lot ![]()

Hi Lynas, welcome back! :-)
I don't see anything strange about your dragon, maybe because I don't know the original reference. Anyway, even forever WIPs are good to practice and maintain the drawing habit.

Thank you ![]()
Here's the original

When i have to draw the small wings when can see, i just can't. Something's wrong. Maybe the height of my dragon...or maybe he's not so big.

Hi Lynas, welcome back! Yaay more people finally ^^
THAT DRAGON LOOKS AWESOME.TBH I don't see anything wrong though... Basically a dragon's rather a mystical creature so I don't think that there's "good" proportion or whatever it is? As long as both wings etc are quite symmetrical it must be OK no?
On my side I wanted to participate for tumblr's solas positivity week but I got some accident and burnt my hand so it won't finished for Friday T_T
Crack pairing (Solas x M!Lavellan) under spoiler. This is a gift for a friend

Welcome back Lynas! Your dragon is looking great so far, I can't wait to see the finished one ![]()
@Ceru: Oh, I hope your injuries heal soon
Please take care!
Your drawings also look good, and Solas
Although his hand seems a bit big. And good job on the horse--I can't draw animals to save my life ![]()

@Pro: you are right about the hands whoops!!! I drew my own hand but using a reference for the pose so well... >.<.
There's a lot of horse tutorial although actually I drew them from photos and a gal who knows horses helped me a lot too. I showed the drawings and she'll tell me to change the size of the ears etc2 until I got it corrected since the two horse pieces are for collabs actually.
And I LOVE YOUR ICON, cute shy Solas XD
