Ceru, I think it is great that you are approaching figure drawing in a more systematic way. You are doing really well so far! Just be careful to keep the axis of your characters consistent. In some cases it looks like the torso is twisted compared to the legs, and looks a little unnatural. I can see that you are using wire drawing, but it might help to draw the body as spheres and cylinders before attempting the final shape. Just my two cents ![]()

I wish I could be more productive, but Fallout 4 is just too damn good ![]()
In the 90 minutes that I *did* manage to stay away from FO4, this is how far I got on my Sole Survivor, Frances Mallory ![]()

@Ceru : Found this for references : http://posereference.tumblr.com. I find that it helps to build skeleton first, and then shape the body around.
@Tesh, you managed to stay away from FO4 that long? Me, I can't ^^ (love your sole survivor so far). Wait what? Paladin Danse need me for a mission? oh, and MacCready wants to talk? Settlers need help. I'm coming ...

Haha
Thanks, Mor
I am really enjoying the game so far, though I am only at level 14. Super mutants are not something I am ready to engage yet ![]()
Had to redraw her, since I wasn't happy with the fuzzy brush I had used originally.

Ooh thanks for the input Vor & Tesh & Mor ![]()
Wow Tesh that's... O.o
Scary lady.
Well I've been taking drawing classes but with work, no time to draw things that I want & instead lots of exercises...
Here's a 5-minute dragon since someone said why is there no dragon fanart in DA fandom...
Some current project (my beloved little elf). Really patchy because it started on paper and ended up somehow being that format. Still not sure to go with cape or without cape

Ceru, I feel for you! Since I switched jobs, my time has also been more limited. I try to draw at least twice a week for a couple of hours, but I don't always manage to do so... However, I am always happy when I do manage to make some time ![]()
decided for a pinup look for my Sole Survivor ![]()

The worst thing with jobs is the commute. Now that I live in Paris area, the commute time had increased significantly... It's hard to get home before 9 PM T__T. Tried drawing in the Metro but it's not easy with small sketchbooks and so many people around and most time no seat.
Is Fallout4 a good game? I see fanarts everywhere and either lots of "Sole Survivor" or someone who looks like he is wearing a tin-version of Buzz Lightyear's spacesuit.
@Morlanwen: ah that sites REALLY cool! Although I'm not really sure how to use it?
Luthiel, final sketch with body correction... Lineart or not lineart?

Haha, yes, Fallout 4 has the tin version of Buzz Lightyear, a.k.a Paladin Danse. Some people like him as much as we like Cullen. I haven't gotten far enough in the game to recruit him, so I haven't really formed an opinion yet. My favourite so far is Nick Valentine, a private detective you can get as a companion. He is AWESOME ![]()
If you like Bethesda games, you'll love Fallout 4, that's all I can say. The characters in FO4 have significantly more substance than you usually see in Bethesda games, which is great, but it doesn't come close to Bioware games.
Luthiel and the dragon look fantastic! I'd say go for lineart
Luthiel's portrait already looks good, you just have to refine the body ![]()

Wait isn't Nick Valentine the corpse?? I didn't play the game at all so basically from what I understand about FO4:
- Tinman Paladin Danse is everyone's fave
- there is an awesome dog
- there is a walking corpse in red tail coat.
So what's her name? Your character? That lips... ![]()
Heeeelp! Does anyone have any suggestion for the colour please? This is just rough flats, not yet shaded. TBH she looks a bit better in red cape IMO but in all honesty I don't think it's the one she'll actually wear...

John Hancock is the ghoul (or corpse, as you put it, but that's not an accurate description)
Nick Valentine is something else entirely, and I love him
Danse is an awesome tank, and he works pretty well for a stealth character: he draws the fire, I snipe the attackers from a safe distance.
My Sole Survivor's name is Frances Mallory, a JAG lawyer before the bombs hit ![]()
Luthiel is looking great in colour. I think the red cape works better with the background. The green kinda stands out and draws the eye away from the character's face.

A Lawyer turned into fighter, that won't be easy... Can't wait to see her finished since those lips... XD
Started to cell-shade little Lu. One brush only in SAI ![]()

I'm loving the progress so far. Since the lighting seems to be warm, you might want to add some colder colours to you shadows, like violets and blues.
Using one brush is fine. Believe me, I have about 500 different brush sets, thanks to my ImagineFX subscription, but I continually fall back to the good old hard edged round... ![]()

You know, that Danse kinda reminds me of Cullen... XD
The costume's so good, that's kinda feels Detective-like with the hats XD

I really like the angle, Ceru. I think you nailed it
As for the facial hair, it's just an illusion. It is colour blocks, with a few sharp lines for detail. I am learning how not to paint everything in
No special brushes or anything - it's all the hard-edged round.
Close-up of Paladin Danse (should be done in a few days, yay!):

Did you seriously use only hard round brush for that??? Gosh... ![]()
Cleaned up the sketch, going to start the value charting for this one... I'm still not very sure about the light source & values so probably this needs a bit more Greyscale study before going colour.
