Cery, I think you are hitting up against the same problem that I usually come up against. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to fix it other than practicing more drawing... Basically, my sketches always seem to be more fluid and relaxed, but as soon as I lay down the colours, everything becomes stiff. You can see this in the Fallout 4 drawing I did for Mel.
However, for the text that you crossed out, I think you managed to figure out all of those things very nicely. Don't worry about the muscles - unless he is supposed to be emaciated, the muscles will show (and will be quite well defined too).
Maybe adding a bit of colour variation would help? Right now the bedding is all blue. Maybe add some purples in the shadows? Don't use shades of the same colour in your drawings. Use the colour wheel to find harmonious combinations, and build your shapes with several colours.
As for my Madame, she is no one in particular. I used several references, and right now she doesn't look like any of them. I just wanted to draw a portrait that would include jewelry, a complicated fan (yay, I made my life difficult voluntarily!), and be a goo practice for skin tones
All the greenery is left over from the previous colour scheme. I will paint over, however
