Just one thing I noticed. Based on your light direction, shouldn't the Quizzy cast a shadow onto Cullen?

Thanks, Shantia Glad you like the outcome As for poor Cullen - I think he himself is afraid that under different circumstances that would have been his fate. Probably that's the reason why he feels such sympathy for Samson.

Those are some really good doodles. It's challenging to draw the human head from all sorts of different angles, but you have done a great job Keep 'em coming

Thank you after many lessons later that you draw around noses and lips, not actually outline them I'm using melissagts screenies but the blacks are so black and it looks totally funny when I tried to translate it, especially with those lips. I could put an eraser to this thing constantly but I surrender!!

As much as I love Melissa's screenshots, many of them don't contain the whole head & are in very very high contrast (she did push the contrast to max IMO, to get the best dramatic effect). Personally I'd go with fontofnothing's shots, they are high resolution & contain the totality of Cullen's head. Let's just say that I find it easier to get the proportion when I can see the whole head than when it's just a piece of the face. And it's a bit easier to "feel" the different planes of the face for the shading.

 

Maybe ask Tesh about how she used Melissa's shots for the contrast/shading? IIRC that Cullen portraits she did was from the same shot as you used.
