Oh my gosh, I cannot believe I have neglected you all for such a long time! I am soooo very sorry. Between health issues, moving to a new home and months of renos, and transitioning to a new job, I simply couldn't find the opportunity to do anything art-related. I hope you can forgive my absence.

 

I have peeked through the WIP and finished work section, and seen some tremendous improvements since last I was here. It would take me waaaaay too long to compliment everyone, but please know that I really admire all your progress. I hope you are having fun drawing

 

You can once again count on me to chime in and help out with your ideas and questions. In the meantime, I finished Isabela. There are a few things that I am not happy with (mostly her neck and head), but I could only fix those issues if I had started from scratch. Moral of the story: start with a more detailed sketch.

Hi Tesh! Sooooo good to see you back!! I hope your health issues are better and you're more or less settled in your new home; I know from experience that moving is exhausting both on the body and mind. So I hope you're doing better now and I'm very happy that you came back to the group!

 

I really really love how Isabela turned out; I even like that kind of misty background you gave her, seems like she's coming out of a smoke cloud à la Leliana in DA2. 

 

And Cullen... so hawt!  That is a digital drawing too, isn't it? It's amazing how close it can look to traditional drawing.

Glad you like how Izzy and Cullen turned out. And, yes, Cullen's drawing is digital as well. I just realized that even though I have taken figure drawing classes, I have very little experience rendering muscles. To make things easier for learning, I used a monotone colour palette. And because I also used only three brushes (hard round, and two charcoal, one with and the other without texture), I think it contributes to it's natural look

 

Next I will focus on Timebean's drawing of Ser Gilmore and her Lady Cousland:)

Thank you, Vor Glad you like him. It is up to my mom whether she wants a print or not. She gets very emotional about Tomi, and having this image hanging in the house might make her burst into random fits of tears O_o Yeah... our pets are really part of the family. We got very attached to our cats over the years.

I totally understand, our pets are really part of the family too. One of our Guinea pigs died a couple years ago from an intervention that went wrong and I still have to hold back the tears when I see pics of him.

It looks amazing, Tesh! I really like the splashes of blue; I have to say it's the first image where Cullen looks a bit scary.

 

Lately I've been spending some very nice time in the Abelas appreciation thread; I was inspired to do a little portrait of him as a shading exercise. I tried to imagine him without hood using this pic as reference.

HI oh my gosh I haven't been online in so long! Starting college has taken its toll on me  and I'm actually squeezing this in right before I start working on some essays I need to submit soon.   I have been able to draw, but mostly doodles, and I haven't had the time to do anything more detailed. 

 

@Tesh: I hope you're settling in well! It's nice to see you back

Bahahahaa Well, given how many times I have drawn Cullen so far, it would appear he's not my first choice either. Funny thing is, I prefer tall, dark, and handsome to fair and sweet

I recently got into this visual novel game called Ascension by Rinmaru... it's fantasy, and you can choose characters to romance... so of course I picked the elven mage.
