I think this is the coolest idea ever!!! I love how it turned out, Ceru, and am glad to hear that you have had fun working on this piece. The colours and the atmosphere you have created are awesome :D

Well it's probably because this is not from the story. I assure you in the Looking Glass fic, there is no T-Rex. So no sad thing

...jokes aside, thanks

Hmmm the colour & lighting is taken more or less from the reference though, that's from Jurassic World movie actually :D

Crossover with dinosaurs is always good crossover

I love the final result, I always struggle with dark scenes but you nailed it. Good job!  <3

Oooh I love boht portrait! You really nail the skin. There is always sometihng soft on your portrait and I do not know what it is but even on Alibear's frowny face, there is something subtly soft about him :)

On my side I finished this. It ended up more yellow tahn intended but well... Not very realistic drawing though

I love the colours, though. It's such a warm drawing, Ceru :)

As for skin tones, I think the reason why my portraits are soft is because I have a very light brush stroke. I never use a lot of pressure while drawing. And I rarely draw hard edges on portraits :)

Tesh, I love your quick portrait and Alistair... what can I say about Alistair  So manly, such an intense gaze... *meow*

I also love the colours in your painting, Ceru. It's very warm, I like warm paintings and also it fits very nicely with the doggie luv theme  <3

That Hogwart's student is veeeery cute! Did you draw it by ink or is it digital?

Oooo thanks Vor :D

(pssst: agree with you about Alibear!)

Luthiel's inked with drawing pen, although at first I'm also trying the fountain pen & india ink but it's so difficult & there's lots of errors O.o

Lovely ink drawings, Ceru! I never even tried to draw with a fountain pen, it must be really tricky.

Abelas is finally finished! Not my favourite drawing, but it had its moments and as always, good to learn and progress  :)

Vor, I really like the story this drawing tells :) Storytelling is so very important in making a drawing special. It was a good idea to use sharper rendering for your character that constitutes the focal point, and blurrier shading for the background. You will have to practice a bit, though, as the transition is a bit abrupt. A good rule of thumb is to work with sharp, well-defined lines in a circle around your focal point, and use loose strokes for everything outside that circle.

Keep up the good work! I can't wait to see your next story :)

Thank you, Tesh!  <3 I'm very happy I managed to convey a story in this drawing, and that you like it  :)

I didn't know about that circle technique, will definitely try it out on my next graphite drawing!

Just a quickie one to "decompress" from graphite  :P (I really need a finer point for faces and details)

Looks great! What's the size of your pen?

Hmm some sketch dump because I just doodled a lot without purpose and got caught in Harry Potter AU...

Mixed Media: drawn & inked on paper, cloured digitally because the colour pencil version SUCKZ then retransplanted to the photo below. Inspired by this

The size is 0.5; I have another one that is 0.4, I used it to somehow fix the mess I've made of the face with the 0.5 one  :pinched:

I hear you, getting a decent digital version of colour pencils is a bit of a pain. That idea of illustrated descriptions is great  :)

Red and black ink is such a gorgeous combination, I love it  <3 I like how you did highlights on the hair; all the drawing has a strong old comic book feeling, it's really nice.

Btw I found a 0.1 black pen while shopping for other things; from now on, I will be able to ink details properly  :)

Quickie #2 is finished  :) I'm so happy with my 0.1 marker, it makes a big difference when inking details.

Thanks Ceru, I'm glad you like it!  <3

I haven't drawn in a while, I found a new job (yay!) and it's taking a bit to get used to working full-time again. But as soon as I'm a bit settled, I'll be back!!  :wizard:

Ooow that's great about the new job :D

Settling in for the work always takes time though so well, courage! <3

On my side I'm back to drawing... these pics below are quite riddiculous so here's the context: it's supposed to be their wedding ceremony/bonding of the souls but I just can't draw it that way and it ended up being in a simpler setting with much less decoration. A fanart from a fic (Feynite's Looking Glass spinoff, The Hunter's Child)

Thanks Ceru!!

You ended up with a very atmospheric and intimate painting, it fits very well with the theme so good job! As you get more practice, you will be able to draw more complex backgrounds. I'm aiming at that now; along with other things of course, there are still many issues with my figure drawing, but I don't want to forget completely about backgrounds.
