The head's good from what I see, but something's rather off with the collar no...? IT's digital btw?
@pro I think what's off with the collar is that the left line should run up until being level with the line on the right, instead of up to the jawline (did that make any sense? sometimes it's hard to explain
) I like how it looks, are you planning to colour it? I'd like to see it coloured ^^
@Ceru I like the "rugged" background, I think it adds texture. But it's about personal taste! Colouring with those water based markers seems difficult, but I love the colours.
about the collar: yep, I see it now, I'm not sure how I can fix it however... I'll try it in Photoshop.
@Ceru: I drew this in my notebook so it is in ink. ![]()
@Vor: I think I'll try colouring it either with markers or digitally.
Thank you guys! ![]()
@ pro Yay!
What black marker did you use? The lines look so clean. I love drawing with black marker, but the ones I find either have the point too big (I like really fine lines) or the ink spreads on the paper and lines don't look clean.
I fixed the collar:
I probably should have posted in the WIP thread, oh well
You want me to try moving it to the WIP post?
Hmm TBH: it's still rather weird on the collar. That Collar is supposed to wrap around his neck no? The left side of the Y sould be at the other side of the neck if I get right? You're making both side at the right side of the neck.
EDIT: Happy Birthday Qween Been.
(I'm sorry I really fail this piece but well... I should not try new techniques for pieces I intended for others
)
So sorry for quality, I made a huge mistake & try to cover it & it got really bad.

Do you think it should be moved? If you do that's alright, you can do so. ![]()
And yeah, it's been bothering me but I just realized that for the collar to look correct I have to redraw the whole part.
I'll see what I can do...
Thanks for your help ![]()
Edit: Ceru, your drawing looks great! I can't even tell that there's a mistake in there.
It's as you wish, from what I see on your drawings, it might probably be better if the left side of the collar is really at the back (invisible except for the end) of the neck... What's everyone else say? I'm not the most objective viewer, I might see it wrong actually.
It's up to you. If you want to continue working on this drawing (rendering) probably do something about it?? Or if you just intend it as a doodle, just stop here & call it a day for this one & keep the collar things in mind for another time? I can't say, up to you.
The collar looks better now. Here is a good reference pic, I think (sorry for size)
While looking for pics to show, I realized on many screenshots it looks like your first try. Bad, Bioware, baaaaaad
Anyway, even if it's not perfect, I think it looks quite right now so you can leave it like that if you don't want to redraw the whole thing. Thank you for the marker reference! Nice to know there is even 0.05 size ![]()
@Ceru it isn't that bad! I only see the eyes and mouth a bit off, but the rest is perfectly Ok. It's a very good result in a medium you aren't used to!
@Pro: Ooh it's looking good now, at least it's much clearer for me to distinguish the 2 layers ![]()
@Vor: Thanks.
I also use Uni Pin line 0.1, it's excellent really. Personally I'd say no to Staedler's since my way of holding pens makes it smudge too much, but the Uni Pin is really great. Or probably Faber Castel's India Ink Pitt marker, the S and F are excellent but not as fine as 0.1 Uni Pin.
@ Pro - The collar looks better now
and, yes, this should be in the WIP thread. Let's try to keep this thread for finished pieces ![]()
Thanks, everyone ![]()
And I'm very sorry about posting in the wrong thread
I posted it right when I finished it the first time, without taking a second look at it. I'll make sure to be more careful next time... ![]()
It's OK, I moved the post to WIP post. ![]()
Thanks, Ceru ![]()
@ Ceru - Qween's Quizzy looks adorable - like she just got out of bed, and needs her coffee ![]()
In case you lovely folks were wondering what I like to do with acrylics, here's a more recent piece:

Owww that's amazing! How'can you keep the colour subtle?? Most acrylic painting I see have flashy colours...
This is pretty flashy for me... Waaay flashier than I would paint digitally
In this case, I just selected a subdued background colour - mostly ocher and light brown. As for the flower, there is quite a bit of white mixed in, so that tempers the colours a bit
@ Ceru - Qween's Quizzy looks adorable - like she just got out of bed, and needs her coffee
I'm really sorry, it was rather the race against time, I'll try to redraw her in a week or so probably ![]()
Finished Robb saturday. My BF gave me challenge to do it on ink & pen. These are VERY unforgiving medium... TBH I don't have the slightest idea of how this kind of thing works... And how in the hell to draw Curly hair & fur coat... Need to figure that out. It's important. Cullen wears them too. Curly hair & fur coat I mean.
Ceru, that is really great! Robb looks amazing! As for markers, you need to have a very clean sketch to make it work. It takes a lot of practice, and you are well on your way
Keep it up!
Thanks ![]()
I really need to figure out lots of things for the pen drawings, since in the end I love doing that. (TBH I don't have any idea on how to do the stubbles except by adding values... And the only thing I can think of to add value is do cross hatching...).
I don't know on how you guys are doing any drawings/paintings but all I did, I don't have any idea of what I'm actually doing, or what I can expect as final result ![]()
It's pretty much about experimenting... Unless you follow a rigurous curriculum.
