There are like 0 websites or forums that explain this.

No speculation, please.

How does one craft purple armor for their multiplayer character? Call it tier whatever, you'll know it because it'll be purple.

Or is purple armor only an option for like 1-2 characters?

I have some allegedly tier 3 "blue" crafting leather. But I'm assuming if I simply craft armor with it the game will say , "*CHOMP*CHOMP*CHOMP*...*burp*," and poop out some very plain, boring and uninteresting blue armor that I already have.

It's a bug. A few classes (Katari, Necro) have base blue, then upgrade purple armor, it's supposed to be white and blue.

Katari and Necro also have a third tier of armor (Arishok and Imperium) which the other classes do not.

Anyway, Assassin Inquisition Operative Armor (Perseverance) is purple.  In color.

no its not..

the third tier has different name altogether that's how you can tell its a third tier, it normally wont show till you craft one of the second tier blue sets and third tiers are normally for me it was 11 rare cloth, 7 rare stone,7 rare Metal,7 common cloth{ it was pain in the balls to collect that much cloth just to have the same def as a blue armor like for what it said for me on my necro after i crafted necromancer liament{sp on the last part of the armor} the third tier is called mortalist liament, but it still has the same def  as a blue armor and same graphic to boot, they really need to fix the stats on the third tier and maybe change the graphic a bit{ yes yes i know my epeen is showing, but damn it all the cloth wasted on the third tier and it has the same def and  look as the orginal blue tier, i was hoping for somehting little easier on the eyes and fun to watch

Sorry for yuo bro - you waist so many good material on something that can be open with low level tier 1 material. Only you dont know that material you use to craft armor dont matter at all. There only 2 set of purple armor its Katari and Necromanser.

so far yes there is  for those classes only which i have both, but they really need to fix the necromancer armor its the same darn armor  type def as  blue tier whilst the katar goes from medium to heavy on the purple armor and gets improved def even before you use the hand and feet upgrades.

i think ts goes from  dont qoute me i may be wrong, dont have the game open to verify it but the blue tier is 89 def medium armor, before hands and feet   and the purple is 98? before  feet and hands upgrade depedning on  tier blue and whatever you use but gains the heavy armor prefix.

while the necro  doesnt even gain any thing in def and or  upgrade in armor prefix

The Necro/Katari armor has been confirmed as a bug since release.  I'm surprised people are still arguing over it.  The Necro/Katari don't magically have access to an extra tier of armor, and using higher grade materials does not result in rarer armor.  Materials have absolutely no effect on armor crafting.  Everyone gets blue/purple Katari/Necro armor if they bother to craft it.  That does not mean that it's possible to get a purple version of a white/blue armor if you're lucky.  There's no element of luck there.

Two crafted Reaver armors. In answer to your question, I got those by crafting the Tier 2 variant using Iron/Druffalo Hide/Plaideweave. I don't know if that is common, or if I got insanely lucky, but everyone saying you can't get purple armor, or that it is a bug, is just flat out wrong.
