I don't know about you guys but public office worker here in Canada Quebec most take 2 weeks off during Christmas, the offices are like empty. Only a few remain and its only in case something insanely urgent that people are recall to work. The politicians are off on the first week of December and they resume there functions in January. The retail sector is different obviously because it is the high selling season but for office people its the dead season.

I work in private sector office work and its also empty from December 15 Ish to January 2 or 3rd. They practically force people to take 2 weeks during Christmas and 2 weeks in summer. what they don't allow is to take 4 weeks straight.

Oh, I hear you... I happen to be in both camps... PC and DAMP.... I fooked over no matter way I want to play.

Funny enough, I bought the game mainly for the MP component. I played DA:O on the PC and loved it... DA2, not so much. I was really hoping that DAMP would have more under the hood in common with ME3MP...

When I first started having problems with MP mode, I posted in these forums for the first time since like 2009... And I remember PenguinFetish being the big defender of BioWare... So many of his replies were in the thread of "Relax, guys, they'll fix it!" Frankly I started to hate seeing his avatar pop up in threads... LOL

But, I'm in the same boat.... and I want the game to work properly as well... However, I'm ready to quit playing either game mode for a while myself.

Would anyone like to go to the tavern and have a drink after this?

It's what friends do, right?

Hahahaha...Oh, you were serious?

I don't wanna leave DAMP. I am stubborn and addicted to this thing.

But man, how difficult does it have to be to get a game going? It was never easy for me because public games are out of question (Thank you region-lock matchmaking), but now the lack of friends (and I have one hundred of them) and stable groups due to so many people moving on or giving a break (including the OP) has left me lobby-less for more time than I would like to.
Seriously Bioware, how difficult is it to throw me on a Perilous Public lobby, even if it is a doomed one?

To be fair your avatar already made everyone aware.

I've got the platinum on SP, but was waiting for a patch to both do a little cleanup (party banter plz), and to do a second run.

For MP, i am frankly, feeling my desire to play drain.  Had an hour last night, but between the time/failures to join a game, two key-glitches, my level 17 Reaver is still level 17...

Then all of my friends have given up on MP, so yeah; while i may check in from time to time, i think regular play is over.

As SpaceMeatboy said,I cannot quit,I need my daily dose of DAMP.

So you guys at Biower, there are people who wake up hours before going to work just to play your game.Today was a sad day.

Thank you

I don't fault Bioware for taking an extended holiday break. I would want one too frankly, give all the tedious work it is to put together a title like this. I commend the single engineer who spent his break trying to fix the game. The real problem lies in (my suspicion) that they've already moved onto ME and therefore are understaffed to fix every single bug. They probably only have a small handful of people available for the task, and it's a lot of code to go through.

That said, as a player, the key drop issues is beyond old--it's damn irritating.

Why do we even need keys, anyway? Just do away with them already XD

Game is released little before hollidays which is good from selling point, but PIA for maintenance.

Only thing I cannot understand, why company of such renown and status appointed only one man during the holliday for fixing bugs.

It is your smash hit, hire as many programmers as needed for the job.Better to loose some profit on vages than to loose trust of fanplayerbase.

Forgive me for going a bit sentimental here, but bear with me.

I don't want to leave DAMP either, and I am stubborn as you are. I've been following Bioware since Baldur's Gate. Their games have kept me company in my darkest teenage angst-infilled years and I've spent countless hours since then playing each and every one of their titles. Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, KOTOR, Jade Empire, they are all games I loved completely, even with all their faults. Mass Effect has been a revelation and delivered an experience that went far beyond what I ever thought I could expect from it. I met my partner PenguinFetish playing ME3MP (which btw still is the most amazing MP experience I've ever had) and that game will always have a special place in my heart even many many years from now.

Dragon Age has been my favourite fantasy RPG series of all time and I can't put into words how excited and enthusiastic I was about finally having the chance to play its MP with my partner and sharing something I loved so much. When it became clear that the game was bugged to the point of being unplayable, I still had faith that BW would put things right as soon as possible, in a timely fashion. So I didn't rage, didn't whine and didn't complain and waited patiently for them to fix their game. Sadly, that hope and good faith began to dwindle when it started to become clear that the old Bioware interactions with its fans was nowhere to be found, and with each misleading patch note, broken promise, disappointing patch, attempt at guilt tripping us for voicing opinions, posts that treated us like children, I became more and more resigned to the fact that this is not going to be the game we all expected it to be. Not for a long while anyway.

I'm not even angry anymore. I'm just very, very disappointed. So I'll take my leave for now and maybe I'll come back to it later, if I'll still have people to play it with by the time it will be out of this alpha stage it's in. I tip my hat to Bioware, because managing to drive me away, of all people, is really an epic accomplishment. Keep up the good work.

On a separate note, PenguinFetish has been banned for the weekend, so if any of you wonders where the hell he disappeared to, that's your answer.

Well, at least he's got the DAMP weekend event to look forward to, to keep him occupied  :)

(ok maybe not very tactful response (cough))

I haven't given up on DAMP yet, but that might be because I only got my copy a bit over a month ago and haven't had the time to sink as many hours into it as most who post here. That said, the key bug, unbreakable pots, silly player collision (silly in the sense that it really looks ridiculous, I can't remember anything like this being in ME3MP) and lack of new maps is getting a little tiresome. Imagine if you had only one-two hours time to play the MP on maybe 2 weekdays and then end up spending (depending on luck) as much as half of that time in runs that fail because of the key bug. For example, I had an experience earlier where on wave 4/5 (red templars, orlesian chateau) the key bug occurred 5 times in a row with host migrations etc.. I just had to stick to it and see how many times it'd bug there until I get leads and have to leave. In the end though we managed to finish the run, I got the leads and the key bug did not occur. Whee, I guess? :D

Anyway, the MP part is so much fun I just wish they'd fix the aforementioned issues already, and then bring a few new maps and darkspawn as a new enemy type.

...at this point I can't really see how this'll ever be as much fun as me3mp but here's to hoping.

I get the key glitch maybe 1 game in 10 - that's a level I can cope with with until the patch.

DAMP is a lot of fun - MEMP developed over time, I hope DAMP does.

It may be where you are  ;)

The non English-speaking folk have many interesting languages to share...

And if we're going for some classical allusions pertinent to this thread,

how about some Klingon...

What does that say when a company temp-bans someone who was their biggest supporter? How much time and effort has Penguin put into this game, how many guides has he worked hard to bring the community? How do you screw up so bad that you feel the need to ban someone who clearly loves the game?

I actually stopped playing DAMP (and DAI) a week or so ago and picked up Warframe. I just lurk on the forums waiting for a successful patch but it seems that more and more this game just won't live up to either its potential or the standard set by ME3MP (which honestly, wasn't that high, tons of bugs there too).

Godspeed and good luck!
