Understandable. Granted, for myself I do rate DA:I higher than the above two games, but I get where you're coming from, especially since that was a huge part of why those two games ranked so low for me.

Wait a second there... You rate this poor excuse for a game named DA:I ABOVE than ME1 and BG1?..

It does not take much to rate a game above BG1, in my opinion. Anything with a story and actual characters will pretty much do it.

ME1 was decent, but not spectacular.

He must be confused. He must not remember rallying the citadel to take down Sovereign and fighting OR REASONING with Saren to take him down.

Remembered them just fine. Sorry to burst your bubble.  ;)

Probably forgot the feeling you got when your paragon shepard decided to make the renegade decision and release the Rachni Queen hoping that some day in the future it might turn out to be the right thing to do.

Guys there's no way we're all going to see the same games in the same way. There's not much point arguing over that. Each had their good and bad qualities. How much weight someone put on them depends on that person and their perspective.

My Shepard was so Renegade I shot Mordin in the back first playthrough without a second thought. Gotta say, you really suck at this.

Or how tough it was to leave one of your comrades to die, or convince your friend Wrex you were doing the right thing by destroying the brainwashing genophage cure.

Common sense? On the Bioware forums? How dare you!

I didn't even know you could do that to Mordin... Jist shows how awesome ME 1 and 2 were. You could shoot a main character in the back.

On the contrary, there are objectively good and bad games. If someone tried to get you to buy Pong for $60 you'd laugh at them.

If you think BG1 is amazing in 2015, I'm not gonna call you a liar. Your thoughts are your own. I will emphatically disagree with you, though.

Any of the Dragon Age games, and sadly even the ME games, walks all over it in terms of story and characterization, that's for damn sure.

I get that you are frustrated with the game. The game has its flaws.

What other people do with their money is not my business.

Different persons, different tastes. Such a simple concept and yet so hard to accept.

Well when it's a game series I cared about and paid money for, I'm entitled to point out that it's awful.

You're entitled to share your opinion. Not everyone feels the same way. The only thing a community can ask for is that everyone's nice about sharing their thoughts.

The enhanced edition of BG1 came out not long ago. And that one sold really well. People did love it, and that paved the way for the BG2 EE edition, and the Icewind Dale one.

A brand new expansion pack set between BG1 and 2 is in the works as we speak.

BG still lives :)

Just saw that on Steam. I thought word on the street was they were making BG3 after finishing the EE.

Yeah they said they might  go for BG3 in the future. But seems they are doing some expansion first. Probably testing the waters, I guess. They specified that the new thing was not BG3, though.

Honestly, it was no worse than ME1's padding via the Mako, imo.

Don't you be insulting the Mako, now!

BG3 would be difficult to do since the Throne of Bhaal ending pretty much ended the series. Not sure where you'd go with lvl30+ characters to find a challenge, too. ;)

I've been playing a lot of BG1/2 EE the last weeks ... it's a lot of fun. Although I have to admit the first thing I did was editing a savegame and giving the entire party boots of speed, otherwise the game would be too slow for me. ;)

I think they might go with that "Black Dog" idea that was the original BG3. You play a different character in it, but several of the companions from the other games would be in it.

They might do it like DA did it. Varric is level 30 at the end of DA2. Not so much at the start of DA:I, for example.

I know. I bought both of them. That doesn't mean that the cast of the first one isn't boring boring boring compared with some of the gold in Bioware's more recent games. And honestly, I infinitely prefer the combat in any of the DA games to that. I just don't like whichever edition that was very much.

FWIW, I never got into BG2 the first time around so I'm looking forward to digging into that.
