Losing connection to the session even more often!

So, I've had this error "You have lost your connection to the session" occasionally before. Usually restarting the game would fix it, but in the last 7 or 8 days I've got this error more times than the ones I was actually able to play a public game.

I don't see many people complaining about this, so I'm wondering if it's not a common problem, or if there is a simple fix that I've missed somehow.

Please comment  :)

Probably akin to "waiting for other players" in ME3MP when the other players were fine, ingame, and doing things.

AKA Bioware blaming you for one of their bugs don't fall for it

For me, the number of times I've lost connection seems to have decreased. It still happens, just not as often as it was a couple of weeks ago.

Dragon Age servers go completely down for me everyday during a certain time period. This has been happening for weeks since I started playing multiplayer. Patch 3 has not fixed this issue.

I get "Dragon Age Servers are not available at this time. Please try again later."

This happens everyday from 7pm - 12 am est. Last about 5 hours. Can't connect at all. Outside that time period I can play.

I tried asking on tech support forum but no help. Tried all the suggestions I could find there, but nothing has worked.

I live in New York. Can anyone in or around the New York area connect to servers from 7pm -12am?

Multiplayer is the reason I bought this game. Not being able to play it during peak times makes this game a waste of money for me.

Posting this here hoping maybe someone from Bioware will read this and respond with an explanation or solution to this problem.

Because I can't connect to the servers?

You saying it's my fault?

No that's what EA/BioWare says for you to do.

Not even joking. Pathetic right?

Yea it is. Pretty frustrating.

At first i thought maybe servers were congested. But it's every single day at same exact times, weekday or weekend. Game has been out since November and I know other people can connect to servers at these times.

There's also a lot of people that can't connect on tech support forums so doubt it's just a problem on my end. Especially after I've done everything suggested.

Re-install

Repair Game

Open ports for Origin and Dragon Age

Disable Firewall to see if can connect

Bunch of other "fixes"

Nothing has worked.

I wish they would address connectivity issues or acknowledge they exist for lots of people.

Yea i have noticed that i've been getting that alot lately. I tried playing yesterday morning and 10 times in a row i got the lost connection error message. So i restarted the game, as soon as i picked multiplayer it dropped me straight into a lobby. Problem was it was a glitched out lobby where the host had a different gamertag from me but had the same banner/title/portrait, which is no biggie you might think but as the three of us were mages i switched to my templar, he switched to templar, i switched to hunter, he switched. and it wasn't him trolling, each of our toons were same level, same exp til next level.

So anyways... backed out and continued to get another 4 lost connection messages. Decided at that stage to give the new assassin's creed dlc a whirl. was pretty fun actually.

The fact that it happens in a specific, prime time interval makes it smell like it might be traffic shaping on your ISP's side.

I don't know. I have Verizon Fios 75/75 Mbps.

I know it's peak times but everything else works fine at those times. I can log onto and play any other game but this one. Never had this problem with a game before.

I tried resetting router and opening ports.

Don't what else I can do on my end.

This comes to mind: run some internet speed tests at different times to see results.  wondering if bandwidth is really the issue, but some testing will at least assist to know if bandwidth throttling at certain times is the issue or not.

Are you using Verizon's standard hardware? Supposedly, the Actiontec router they hoist on people is a bit... crap, really, particularly for applications using peer to peer protocols (that'd be DAI). A quick search netted me this reddit post (ignore the OP, he's wrong, but people further down the thread seem to have an idea what's up) : http://www.reddit.co...dth_xpost_from/

More lost connections.

More crash to desktop.

Just as many spawn with no abilities.

Less no key drops.

Is this progress? I can't tell anymore...

Oh, and since I never actually answered the question in the OP: Yes, "lost connection to session" has been the bane of my mp experience. Last time I counted, I got it 11 times in a row, played two matches with the same lobby, then that split up and I got the error 5 times, then went to bed to sulk.

Turns out I'm now experiencing the spawn in game but cannot move bug, which to be far, has only happened once before.

Happy days.

Common for me at least on the XBox One. The thing that makes it go mostly away for me to to not pick a random location at the mission selection.

XB1 here, and I experienced this too.  Most of those connection errors were based on "random" map.  Ever since I have simply hosted to avoid a bunch of issues.  Downside of hosting is the odd non-key drop and having to leave with 0 xp.  It's a decent tradeoff though.

I get this pretty frequently.  If I didn't have to completely kill the application and restart it, it would be considerably less annoying.  If I don't restart, I just get it over and over again.  Highly irritating.

This comes to mind: run some internet speed tests at different times to see results.  wondering if bandwidth is really the issue, but some testing will at least assist to know if bandwidth throttling at certain times is the issue or not.

Ran some speed tests. Earlier today was in the 50's Mbps. Tried again at 8:30pm was around 25 Mbps. 10:30 pm in the 30's. Reset router and jumped into 70s Mbps. Though around 11:00 - 11:30 is when i can get back online to DAI, so may be coincidence.

Once I reset router I couldn't get back into Origin at all though. According to this post: http://forum.bioware...n-servers-down/Origin just went down for everyone? What incredibly bad timing... I reset router and Origin goes down at same time.

Yea I'm using Verizon's hardware.Actiontec router. Interesting post on reddit. Maybe that's the case. But it's only this game. Every other game works fine and I can connect to other p2p software. It's just this game.

And if this was the issue wouldn't I be having connection lost problems instead of totally being locked out of DAI servers? Game tells me "Dragon Age Servers are not available at this time. Please try again later."

I don't what to make of this yet. With Origin being down and this being the time I usually get back on anyway, It's hard to tell what's going on.

Guess I'll test it out again tomorrow.

Yes, this happens to me pretty much every 4th search (whether or not I've completed a match). Once I get it, it keeps happening until I restart the game, and then I sign back in and get another 4 rounds before it pops back up.

Interesting.  You are seeing differing rates, but even so, even at 25Mbps I don't see any speeds low enough to be a problem.

And yes, DA servers went offline last night.  It was around 9pm MST for me.  I was waiting for joiners, but no one was showing up.  I went back to the main menu to restart MP (somtimes it helps), and that's when DAI servers were down.  Half hour later I shut off the XB1 and watched tv.

Hope you get this all sorted out...
