Microsoft had their event today which showcased a lot of  projects they plan to release. One of the projects aims to provide a centralized platform which would allow streaming from an XboxOne to any device running the Windows 10 operating system(Steam did also do a similar thing with their OS).

This is basically what windows have been trying to do since windows 8. A system of devices connected via network that allows seamless transition of data between the devices. The question is, does this make the platform bidirectional? Can I stream games from my computer to another device connected to my network?

Either way, it looks very good.

Other things announced

-Direct X 12(Which I am excited for)

-Cross Platform play(XboxOne vs PC)

-GameDVR

-XboxApp

I thought the same at first but then I realized that the OS is not restricted to machines. One could stream it to Tablets if that is their type of thing.

Or they could just forget everything and install gentoo

Why is 6 afraid of 7?

Cause 7 8 9!

Which is why we skipped to Windows 10. Lol.

I don't know much about this, but it's Microsoft, so I will assume that it's all part of a giant conspiracy, and that it will suck.

Yeah this.

Well, I made a thread about this briefing, but to be honest I decided it wasn't worth it to update it with no real new game news.

Though, in that Xbox post, it DOES say that Fable Legends is only the first of several games coming. So we'll see what we get.

So is 9 a cursed number that should be avoided?

I don't know. I think I'm satisfied with 7 and somehow with 8.1 (it has some annoying parts).

There is no need for DirectX 12 (I currently can only use DirectX 10!) soon.

Off-topic:

I changed my opinion for my future graphic card and I'll get a R9 280 instead of GTX 760. It's almost cheap and 3 MB of video memory is handy. I realized how my GPU suffers from 1 MB of video memory in running DA:I.

Other than the app which I'm indifferent toward it's all good stuff, but I'm most excited for cross platform functionality. I'm strictly a PC gamer these days while my closest offline friend prefers consoles. We could play more games together and he wouldn't need to buy some games twice. Assuming third parties jump on this too and cross platform play isn't limited to first party titles.

Didn't MS also say Windows 10 will be made available free for existing 7 and 8, and 8.1 users?

But no dates have been announced yet.

That's actually pretty brilliant of them. Their phone and tablet sales are still second tier to Android and Apple, but if they can get huge numbers of people on an OS that syncs up seemlessly with MS products, it could in theory lead to more sales of mobile devices and consoles.

Tip of the hat, Microsoft. You seem to have a seemingly good idea. Let's just hope the execution is better than most of us have come to expect.

Yes but when?

Isn't the one available now only a Beta?
