That was also a major complaint raised against the game by people far more knowledgeable and caring about that subject.

Lol I don't doubt it. I wouldn't expect a Western to be faithful to Eastern mythology and the like. Although I can't recall any specific complaints in regards to the game off the top of my head. The last time I looked up anything on JE news wise was when it came out.

Anybody mention GTA IV yet?  That game is trash. From the characters to the gameplay I was just bored with it.

I was waiting for someone to bring this one up.

I got through about... five 'main' missions plus some content on the side before giving up. The characters and story don't get any better, do they?  :pinched:

From a purely gameplay standpoint, Dragon Age: Origins. The tactical combat did the job but after killing waves of trash enemies with little effort on Nightmare, with a difficulty spike from a boss once in a while, it gets repetitive. Especially so when you have the best weapons and armor around. This happened to me around halfway into the game.

Nope. Enjoy the repetition. However, I'd take Niko over the three stooges in the next game any day.

Shooters, all of them. Can't seem to enjoy the genre. I always gave chances to the famous ones in their day. Doom 2, Quake, Unreal, Half life 2, Bioshock... gave up on them in the late 2000s. I remember quitting half life 2 and buying hordes of the underdark to my best friend's dismay.

Depends what you dislike about them? The view point? The controls? The gameplay?

I'd like to recommend the Shadow Warrior remake. The guns are secondary to the sword, in most cases.

Too bad GTA V for PC won't be released for a month or more.

GTA 3 ~San Andreas graphics is "awful". The last time I installed to replay SA I couldn't stand that crappy faces and stuff. GTA IV is meh/okay (worth playing once but not more). Gay Tony's Protagonist is a jerk, so I couldn't continue playing it.

The only solution is Lost and Damned (or the good ol' GTA 1 and 2), If I want to wander/surf in a city and do some killings (Rampage/Berserk style) and stuff.

I actually liked GTA IV's story for the most part; certainly much more than GTA V's.

The Ballad of Gay Tony is the best thing about either game, though.

GTA hasn't been good since GTA:SA, its pretty much the CoD of sandbox games

The combat's clunky, the environments are dull (some of the times) and the urgency you're on about is kind of thrown out the window when I'm killing mercs for medi-gel and ****** around with my MAKO.

You make good points, like always, but stuff like chest high walls (still present in ME1) and corridors don't bother me as much as they would do to other people. ME is a shooter, from start to finish, no matter how much you cover it up with RPG mechanics and "tactics" it's still a damned shooter.

At least its better than recycled environments and a game that's literally impossible to play on insanity because "I'm going to use this one skill that makes me invincible for a long time" which just slows things down unnecessarily.

ME can be the action game it wants to be all it wants as long as I get to choose what Shep says.

The plot was a giant side-mission, yeah, and it pretty much screwed up everything despite being fine on its own.

And TIM was cool.

It's nice having an antagonist who's also your best means to survive. Nice twist to it.

Impossible to play on Insanity?

My Adept Shepard could throw Geth Colossi around like rag dolls, or fling Krogan BattleMasters off into the distant sunset. It was actually easier in most cases to engage that Geth platoon on foot then try and deal with the Mako.

Then ME 2 killed my Adept and replaced him with some weakling pansy.  :(

Yeah I was pretty disappointed by GTA4. It was a huge step down from SA IMHO, which had a sprawling map with three full-sized cities, countless minigames and side missions, a better story (IMHO anyway) a highly customizable player character, and of course a way better soundtrack. I expected better from a next-gen GTA.

I never even bothered with GTA5 and I don't think I will.

GTA5 is little better then GTA4 IMO, is largely the same game only with a bigger map & 3 unlikable PC's instead of just 1, i only played through it once & didn't bother with it after finishing the story, pretty much all my friends who actually still bother with it only play it for the MP mode now & little else

I think a female protagonist has the potential to add a new perspective and dynamic to a franchise whose protagonists have been male in their entirety.

I also prefer being female in games as a rule of thumb, so there is that as well.

The more you know! It allowed you to choose between 8 characters, four of which are female-- though those are unavailable in the Playstation copy of the game.

Which games I don't like that others do? Probably every storymode game that are released these days. GTA5, DAI - etc. I'm only here because I play DAIMP. I've bought a lot of blockbuster games the last few years but they all bore me to death, so I've just stopped bying them.

And every game with obviously greedy microtransactions that the game is catered around to maximize the profit. Which sadly include DAIMP.

Back in the days, games used to be about skill. Nowadays it's either about a boring story and fancy graphics with boring gameplay.  And if not that, you can pay your way to the top in many cases.

One of the recent storymode, positive surprises was Shadows of Mordor. It took some skill and gave you some resistance, and once you mastered the combat and unlocked all the skills you could do some truly insane and cool stuff with your character.

Other than that I am almost exclusivly playing multiplayer games, where all time favs are Quake, Starcraft, FIFA and Ultima Online. Now testing out Heroes of the Storm, which is quite entertaining.

My favorite game of all time is probably Gradius III. That game is insanely difficult.
