Mass Effect series used the Unreal 3 engine, which was originally meant for fps, too. Adapting the new Unreal 4 engine for DA:I would have been possible as well. But why pay for it if they have Frostbite 3 already? The amount of work to adapt it for a cRPG would have been the same.

If you're saying that (you may consider this a question) based on the notion that both Unreal 4 and Frostbite 3 were made for FPS games, that's premature. There's a great many features (and lack thereof) that may have made either engine harder than the other.

True, they are different. I guess you can only know for sure after you adapted both for the same purpose.

The only reason I got this game was for the promise of the return of the tactical mode. However you can't even sequence multiple commands with the damn thing. Wtf? How can we be expected to use this tactical mode if we can't order multiple commands?? Only 1 at a time per-character? WHY? Another terrible thing is that the game was originally designed to be multiplayer-focused and then was redesigned into what we have now which explains why enemies respawn after 2 minutes and why 100% of the side content is dialogue interaction only, fetch something, then more dialogue interaction only, with 0 interesting things happening, and its why there is way too much grind-filler content for a single player game.

If the great game guarantee was 48 hours instead of 24 I would have attempted to get a refund as well. Sadly I missed my chance.

I don't expect them to fix these massive problems with the tactical mode either. It really does seem like EA is in complete control of bioware at this point. Either that or the devs simply don't give a crap anymore.

You know, having replayed Origins many times, I don't remember being able to queue multiple orders on a character. You could pause and tell each what you wanted them to do when unpaused, and you could set up what abilities to apply in what situations in the tactics screen, but not queue multiple orders. Unless there was a mod for that.

If a Player chooses, they can complete the actual Quests and end the re-spawns; seems to be the case fairly often. And side quests remain optional; pleased to have plenty of content from which to choose. While not all are favorites, many of the minor quests have some IG feedback from completing them.

Even after they fix and give us the good tactical combat with good controls, it's all going to be somewhat pointless as combat in DAI is simple button mashing.   Sigh!

Yeah, I don't recall assigning multiple orders either. It was one at a time for each companion.

Since you had autoattack and the AI script worked, it was functional to just tell your guy to move (he would automatically attack the target you wanted him to after moving). What made they do things in a logical manner was the AI programming with the tactical controls working together.

kinda sucks when you leave the dragon killing and shard colelcting after the main quests

feels pointless since you no longer need the resistances or the materials to craft to beat the game

Yup......I hear yah.

Maybe some DLC's will help?

Maybe patch 4 will finally address all the PC issues?

^ That's the major difference here.  Since you can't do that any more, and the "tactical" AI is limited to "when should I chug a potion?" which doesn't even seem to fire consistently... your only option for tactical control is to be able to do more than one damn thing at a time.

Unpausing for 2 seconds, then pause and click three skills, then unpause for 2 seconds, then pause and click three skills, then...

And heaven Maker help you if you need to tell them to move anywhere.

Not at all; the bonuses from the Shards are quite useful vs Dragons.

I did work that out:

1) swear as they opted to take a bath in a  pool of fire

2) hit disengage from battle

3) enter 'tac cam' and encourage each character to move to the sheltered area

4) swear again as one decides to run back into the fire bath

5) repeat step 3, but spam the hold button as well

6) spam disengage and hold  buttons til you are ready to go back into the fight.

Simples.

Now, there was 2009 release, Divinity 2: The Dragon Knight Saga, which as a matter of fact I got and I am playing for a couple of days now and it's fantastic. It's single player, classical RPG, you have your hero and you go do things along the main questline, which, so far seems quite promising. Larian Studios is German, and they have a really good sense of humour as well, you'll see minor gags and things that compare to the Fable type of gags, chuckles all around.

Actually, they are from Belgium.  You may notice on the company's logo the typical belgian fry on the character's forehead (joke).

And yes Divinity 2 is awesome. *__*

I'd say the entire Divinity franchise is awesome myself. Some iterations more than others, definitely, but they've all pleased me immensely in their own way.
