There are sometimes discussions about game stability / buggyness and the success or otherwise of patches. It's hard to know what to believe as we experience these things individually and discussions become an argument of 'it's broken' vs. 'it's not'.

This unscientific poll is to find out who is experiencing the pain and who isn't.

Caveats:

This survey cannot be scientific as it polls the people on BSN who may not be representative of the gaming population. The results will be an indication of the situation, not a proof of it. It is a fan survey unconnected with BioWare. Thank you.

Results

This is what 400 BSNers think, surveyed over the last three days about DAI stability/buggyness:

  • The 'average' response from BSN is that it's a game with 'minor issues that occasionally annoy'.
  • About a third find the game 'Pretty much bug free'
  • About a quarter have concerns, mostly about 'moderate issues that frustrate', the remainder find 'continual problems' or that the game is 'unplayable'.

This is the overall breakdown for all platforms (though three-quarters of the feedback is for PC):

And the full results are here, linked straight off Survey Monkey:

Really nice initiative, OP! Please try to include as large a number of players as possible by advertising your poll on Reddit and Facebook as well!  ;)

/backs out the thread  ~whistles  for his horse and is jumped by 100 of pc,ps4 and other xbox one players that are yelling  " YOU LIE"!

But i am being honest,, what ? your saying to lie and make the devs work on new things and fix bugs..

 fine!

the game is boring, needs new content and new maps for the mp and new characters, there that will help you, damn flash lynch mobs cant speak the truth without having to lie.

You should ask PC players about their hardware setups, and if they have an AMD GPU, whether they use DirectX or Mantle. That way, we get a good overview of how many Nvidia users are affected by crashes compared to the number of AMD users with issues.

Answered, although for me a game can be very stable (i.e. no CTDs etc.) and have lots of bugs (i.e. features etc. that don't work as intended) at the same time, so the question/answers didn't match up IMO.

PC player with no third party fixes and I've thankfully had a very stable game in terms of SP.

The worst of it is some optimization issues and framerate drops.

This is my experience as well, FWIW. I've logged something close to 160-170 hours, I imagine, without a single crash. Someone else in my household experienced the DX related crashes early on, but one of the frequently posted fixes cleared that right up, and their game has since been very stable.

It's just a simple poll, so I'm not planning to turn it into a 'campaign' on other forums, but if folk wish to share the survey link themselves, they can do that.

The reason I'm not getting into various additional questions about system set-up is again, to keep it simple.

But thanks for those points.

But I think that you should add something for minor problems that are not an issue. The survey assumes that you would naturally be put out, which isn't necessarily the case...

That's a helpful comment, thank you,

in my own mind poor stability and buggyness are both 'issues' and whether it is a CTD or a bug that breaks the game, both are a problem.

I've updated the OP and the survey to make it clear that I'm not distinguishing between crashes and bugs

and inviting people to report back on their experience of either/or.

If either are there it's a problem.

If neither are there, it's not.

Thanks again.

Point taken, could have separately listed size of issue and also the emotional reaction.

But for simplicity it make sense to band very simply, and if it wasn't an issue for them, some folk will answer 'Pretty much bug free'.

But thanks.

I've answered assuming that you were asking about the SP. MP is so much very different (unfortunately). MP has many issues while SP is close to the 'minor bugs\bugs-free' state for me (PC)

Done.  PC, mostly issue free.  Less CTD in 130 hours than I'd get with Dragon Age: Origins, so no complaints on that score.

Plus I can walk now!

Albeit, very, very slowly  :D

PC player here. Only 2 crashes in 190 hours. Only bugs I found were Varric's legs going weird and Solas's war table quest not triggering. Most stable Bioware game in years for me! Much better than Origins, which I still can't play without ctds and texture and memory leak issues.
