360 player, pretty much an unplayable brick.

Done.

  • PC
  • No 3rd part modifications
  • Minor issues that occasionally annoy (Cutscenes, balancing and miscellaneous UI and quest designs)

I've lovingly dubbed the title of this game Crashing Age: Glitchquisition.

I game on a high-end PC and my game will crash-to-desktop if I spend an extended amount of time at the War-Table screen; it'll also crash during extended cut-scenes.

Never had an issue with Origins or II (unless I went crazy with mods)...so this is obviously the result of the new console focus for this series.

Disappointing to say the least.

Yeah, I game on a pretty good PC too, and since this is completely opposite of my experience (and that of many others), I'd say that this is a silly observation.

Maybe there's something up with the game's optimization, maybe there's something up with your computer. I wouldn't rule either out, but the "console" boogieman doesn't exist, and even if it did, it wouldn't apply here, when tons of players are running the game with no issues.

There are sometimes discussions about game stability / buggyness and the success or otherwise of patches. It's hard to know what to believe as we experience these things individually and discussions become an argument of 'it's broken' vs. 'it's not'.

This unscientific poll is to find out who is experiencing the pain and who isn't.

Assuming posting this poll is not itself an issue, I'll share the findings in a few days.

Caveats:

This survey cannot be scientific as it polls the people on BSN who may not be representative of the gaming population. The results will be an indication of the situation, not a proof of it. It is a fan survey unconnected with BioWare. Thank you.

PC, no mods, pretty bug free. Yay, I guess.

Thanks.

PC state of affairs is pretty clear with 2-3 hundred polled.

Want to wait until a few more responses come in on Xbox 360 & PS3.

Because it's such a small portion of BSN responses - 4% only for Xbox 360 - I can't responsibly share a survey finding, even an unscientific one, just on what 10 people say.

On PS4 it's been minor bugs here and there over 130 hours of play.

PC player, mild grapical and UI glitches that are certainly annoying (graphics) and stupid (UI) but the game is very stable and does not crash using Mantle. DX11 causes CTDs fairly regularly (every 4 hours or so)

Voted. Thanks for making the poll.

360 player here, with enough bugs to hinder my enjoyment of the game. Not totally unplayable but I definitely feel like some options are unavailable to me in any potential future playthroughs. :(

Completed the survey.  Running on PC with no mods and a pretty much crash-free experience.  I've only encountered three CTDs in this game in over 200 hours of playing.  That's amazing stability compared to a lot of games I've played.

327 people polled, results filling in nicely.

I'll screenshot the results and post here when we get to 500  :) .

Crashing is not a problem for me in DAI (or pretty much any game as my both my gaming PC and my Bootcamp partition on my MPB are used for nothing whatsoever except games). It's been almost completely stable despite running both CE and the Cinematic Camera "hacks" in the background. I do have the same bugs as everyone else such as hitching cut-scenes, abilities and combos not working, etc., but in terms of pure stability it's been fine. It doesn't really matter though, since the game is so unbelievably boring and bland and poorly done that I'll probably never touch it again after a single play through. I actually couldn't wait for it to end and only stuck with it because I wanted to know how the story played on (in retrospect I should have just watched some YouTube videos)... Instead of playing it again, I've decided to go to Meijer and find every pack of AAA batteries anywhere in the store, put them in a cart, and then repeat that for AA batteries, then repeat again for C batteries, etc. Then I'll do it all over again. That will be about as much fun as DAI. Frankly, I think the overall game design is a much bigger problem than the crashing anyway. Don't bother trying to get it running if yours crashes, just consider it BiowEAre saving you from wasting hours of your life in abject misery and boredom.

Done the survey. I don't really keep a eye on what everybody posted as problems but I rarely experience major problems of any. Main issue is lagging, movement can get a bit choppy when there is a few things happening at once. But I think my hardware is mostly to blame. Still running on a geforce gt 550. XP Gah seriously need to start saving for something better.

XBox 360 player, using deluxe edition discs, single player only.  Haven't yet logged into Origins while playing.

Very stable game so far-I'm 40 hours in and have been focusing more on the quests right now.  I have not yet reached Skyhold.

Only scary issue was a complete loss of audio once on the Storm Coast page load,  but it was easily resolved going back to the last hard save.  I save manually after every major get,so no big deal.  Nothing lost.

I've temporarily abandoned the game until a new AMD driver or a Bioware patch improves stability.

PS4.  Only very minor issues.  No game is perfect.  This runs as soothly as any other.  I certainly wouldn't have ever complained.

DA:Origins was so buggy that it literally killed my first PS3.
