And I suppose we all forgot this:

How much of that was in the final game? 20%, at best?

so if they do it once they are allowed to do it again? Seriously dude stop defending bioware like some crazed fanboy. They misled people and we have every right to be annoyed, i wouldn't have bought the game if they had the decency to inform us that this stuff wasn't in it.

This has caused a lot of frustration as you can see it is well developed and yet cut from game play.  Moreover, this is part of the demo that got GOTY.  My personal view is that too many NPCS, weather and battle effects stall or crash too many platforms -sound familiar?  In Iron Bull's personal quest you see some elements of this, but only at a distance, a shadow of what they could have been.

GOAL: Designed to have under power and over power w/in areas, knowing that you would have to come back periodically.

Reality: That approach is not working correctly -Bioware underestimated the "Open World" concept and that people would simply explore outside of their "focused Plan" to find so many problems. Bioware has put up boundaries to stop "exploring" in some "problem" areas, rather than fix the underlying issues.  In effect they are not fixing many things just blocking access.  Bioware also underestimated the impact of overpower on event timers, hence glitches in cutscenes and other random issues.  As a result, many areas are reached where the entire map is under power and it simply stops about 19 or so.  Going with the standard approach, Bioware could block the map easy enough, but that is problemattic on its own and still misses the point.  Fix the underlying issues -rethink the plan for this goal!

Sound like some of the patches fix one thing destroy others?    There has also been some efforts to improve scaling, but it has spotty performance!

"for pc player by pc players"... "back to its Origins roots".... "tactical gameplay"....  Heavy, impactful lasting consequences for your actions, etc... Did i miss something?

Theres blindly following, and then theres just plain ignorance...

And the best part? All of those statements could be considered true, depending upon one's opinion. So no, they didn't lie, they just used PR language.

No, you people need to realize that alpha footage is not the final product. Everything in alpha is subject to change.

So, what's the point of the alpha footage?

To give an impression of what they're working on.

(that was a serious question?)

It's becoming incredibly hard to be a gamers nowadays!

We can't trust samples.

We can't trust alpha.

We can't trust Betas.

We can't trust journalists.

We can't trust reviews.

We can't trust devs.

We can't trust producers.

So, what now? Use a wet finger?

Gameplay footage pre-release? The ones with "doesn't represent the quality of the final product" line? Don't trust it.

The only valid method is to wait other person to buy it, try it and put the video on Youtube. But I doesn't give infos about the gameplay and this people are in love with their own voice and we don't hear the music or the sounds at this time.

If you want to pre order there's no way to know for sure, indeed.

So don't pre order.

Oh my God! We're beating this dead horse again?

I suggest you go look at some of the early trailers of Dragon Age 2 and look at the stuff THAT WAS NOT IN THE GAME!!!!!

You should have never expected to see alpha footage in the game.

Exactly. This is nothing new.  This happens with ALL games.

I never pre-ordered any game. In the genesis/snes era, it was hard to have actual info about the games. Now, we have info but we can't trust it anymore. I doesn't find this situation sane and I'm seriously wondering how many time will the game industry stay in place only by using PR before the crash.

It is like buying a movie ticket to go see a Sandra Bullock film only to find out she was never in it.  Clearly we were lied to.  I know I feel I bought the gmae under false pretenses.

@Psychevore  I would say other than the reference to "The machines coming back"  and changing lasers into ballistic weapons, most of the game trailer is actually correct.  The Dark Energy powers are clearly just renamed to Biotic.

Either way, the fact they did it before does not justify them doing it again, does it?

It's like going to see Suicide Squad and expecting to see Tom Hardy(He was announced, He quit)

If all of this stuff were on the game suddenly the side content becomes more interesting, remove it and we have the pointless non rewarding fetch quest that give us power and influence that have no purposse.

Watch gameplay footage.

And how the hell all the gameplay footage I've watched would tell me there is no auto attack? How wouls I know that this wouldn't be point and click actionless game? Specially after DA2... Gameplay footage of DA2 scared me, I thought DA2 would be this **** Inquisition is, with action and stuff, but then I played it and it was the same actionless blessing of all Bioware games, so since Inquisition gameplay looked even less action, I thought it would be the same.

Next time Bioware should explain me that it would be a FPS. I don't play FPS, I wuld just not buy InquiSHITion.

Youre takign ONE persons post with alpha footage and assuming this is what were referring too, only, and specifically... No..All the "quote from the lead developer", about things that WERE SAID TO BE IN THE GAME are what we're pissed about..

And no, its not a matter of "opinion" if theyre there or not..

Theres nothing remotely Origins-esk abotu this game..

The tactical camera is not really an option for PC players (reguardless if you can "deal with its flaws")

The behavior modifiers are preset actions.. Nothing to "modify" short of who to follow/defend, and that doesnt even work majority of the time.

For and by pc gamers, when it was designed FOR A CONSOLE then sloppily ported over, with no consideration of a PC CONTROL SCHEME whatsoever, is a blatant lie.

There are many, MANY other statements, interviews, and videos of claims that are flat out falsehoods! Not simple misleading, or "PR spins".. Get off EAware jock, and stop insulting people who QARE having a bad time.. The game got the GOTY, you can still play it as you like. Besides, i thought "community feedback", and "player suggestions"" were a "top priority" for EA, and Bioware? Ya know, for our "maximum entertainment experience possible"....

Pointing out that Bio's done this before isn't a defense of Bio. It might be an attack on fans getting hysterical about DAI in particular, but that's it.

I still say the distress call trailer was worse. That shows Bio backing off on RP aspects, rather than merely gameplay, but that has more to do with my personal priorities.

What do you mean by "not really an option"? You obviously don't literally mean that it isn't an option, because if someone can deal with the flaws then dealing with the flaws is an option. Is it only that you don't use the tac cam yourself?

There's autoattack in tac cam
There's point and click in tac cam.

Not most, but sure, whatever you want.

Difference here is though, that the video in this topic should never have been seen by the public. It was leaked by some crappy journalist. The ME video was, and most of it is still not in the game because it's alpha footage.
