Interesting... I'll try turning off ambient occlusion tonight and see if that helps with the fog.

What is this fog people speak of?

Is it a specific location? Or random?

no issues so far. using MFAA (nice fps increase over MSAA btw) and 2x DSR with everything else on ultra. GTX 970 FTW

same for me here as well. i was hoping for improvement in performance such playing on 60 fps consistently but still get those drops every now and then. hopefully the next driver update or game patch resolves these performance issues.

Hope so too, at least I'm not alone. The patch before this one had major improvements for me, I was hoping for something similar.

How do you use MFAA? Do I just turn MSAA to x2?

Anyone know if these still have the missing body texture problem in DA:2?

I flit between the two games and the previous drivers had this issue.

The fog is an issue when you are running more than one Nvidia video card in SLI.  It's pretty much anyplace that has smoke and fog effects in the game.

I run 2 x GTX 580's EVGA FTW model.  This patch definitely made things smoother, frames drops not as dramatic.  I also started up accidentally with SLI turned off, and noticed the game was quite smooth.  I turned SLI back on and my frames were a little higher than they were before the driver update.  However, I actually now prefer the game with SLI off and one of the cards dedicated to PhysX.  The flickering just kills me, even though its faster.  It seems I can run the game with 1 card, everything on ultra, tessellation on low, and msaa off.  I'm only getting 35 FPS this way, but its a stable FPS so its not jumping up and down.

Yes. I'm replaying DA2 before doing my second DA:I run and thought "Hey, new drivers. Let's see if I can play in DirectX 11 again." Not so much.

MFAA is only available on Maxwell, so if you have a 960/970/980 you can turn it on either through their Geforce Experience or through the Nvidia controlpanel. In GFE it will be done if you press the optimize button on the game. In the controlpanel it's done by going into 3D settings application tab and locate Dragon Age Inquisition (if it's not there you can add the .exe) and scroll down to you see the antialiasing tab and choose MFAA. Once you've done this MFAA will automatically be applied so long as you have MSAA turned on in the game (either 2x or 4x).

Thanks! I think it's most likely on, I just don't see that my frames have increased.

This. And changing the Ambient Occlusion settings have no effect on this (for me anyway)...

Ah, OK, thanks.  I only have the one Nvidia card which I guess explains why I've never seen it, despite numerous people mentioning it here.

Drivers seem to be working well for me, BTW.  No issues or weirdness to report - GTX980.

@SLI users

White fog bug and flickering textures, anyone?

I have not tried it myself yet.

I get this all the time. ALL THE TIME.

I haven't downloaded the brand new driver, yet.
