I like the idea of dyes. It worked out great in Diablo 3 (I know, poor comparison, but their dyes made armor crafting much more fun and worthwhile.) We spend a lot of time in Orlais, they are a very fashionable (despite the weirdness of their tastes) people. Does anyone really think that being able to buy clothing dyes at least in the Val Royeaux marketplace would be a stretch to the lore?
I am over the pj's in Skyhold as well. I could understand them in Hawke Estate, that was a house and we didn't spend much time there. We spend a LOT of time running around Skyhold in our jammies, talking to our people and it just doesn't feel right. Also, why the hell are our undergarments our pj's now? My poor Inquisitor now has fungal infections all over his body from all the sweat of running around wearing pj's under his armor and you know that once he gets back to Skyhold and takes the armor off that he is ripe as hell and offending everyone. I can't believe Morrigan never called him out on it!
The Halamshiral outfit is okay on a guy (Dorian looked quite dashing) but on the ladies? It just looks inappropriate. And what self-respecting head of any major organization would be wearing the same outfit as his attendants to a ball in Orlais where the Empress herself was hosting? Honestly, it's just tacky and makes the Inquisition look pi$$-poor.
As for the armors, some look fairly decent. But why oh why are they all the same (or at least VERY VERY similar) no matter one's class? Why is my mage wearing the same outfit as my rogue on the previous playthrough? I get having an "iconic look" for the characters and that's great, but really? A mage Inquisitor should look like a mage, but the only thing that sets them apart visually from other classes are the weapons on their backs.
