Why is it a story lite action rpg like Diablo 3 can have such an awesome transmog system where I can chose what my gear looks like and have a long list of options but it's beyond Inquisition to offer more than 4-5 looks per class if lucky.

Wow déjà vu.

I play a male human mage, and I think the armors are really good. Well, except for the mails. Those are ugly. They make you look like some messenger boy.

The coats are great. Also, the Orlesian Battlemage Armor is decent. I have used that for the desert levels. In my headcanon the characters dress for the environment.

Some armors are ugly, but there are enough alternatives to keep me happy.

I agree that we should be able to wear whatever we want in Skyhold.

................And In the End, when I wanna to make a mail armor... I can't even look at him, he looks hideous and... HE LOOK TOO FAT...AND TOO PLAIN...T_T DA1 armor is winning over this if you call this Heavy Armor...T_T

I agree that bioware seriously needs to step it up with their art design and variety of gear in DA4. DAI had so much awful looking gear and SO many reused graphics Which was a shame, because the few sets that actually looked good were fantastic, but there were so few of those it's hard to feel impressed.

My bigger complaint though was the absolutely disgraceful hair choices, which were hands down the worst of any game I ever played. (Including crappy KMMOs with like 4 hair styles to choose from) I understand wanting a certain look so huge poofy flowing hair probably wouldn't fit, and I get the whole clipping thing too, but what about wanting to play a female character who actually looks feminine and has feminine hair. I mean, I don't want my Femquis to be a Maybelline model or something, but I shouldn't be forced to have horrible looking stereotype butch lesbian hair, buzz cut G.I. Joe hair that doesn't even fit Dragon Age, or awkward ugly copy pastes from males who also had all hideous hair.

Then there's also the character creation with awful lighting that doesn't appear anywhere in game, terrible sameface problems and weird, awkward sliders that always felt too hard to tweak and generally no fun at all. And better yet no facecodes to at least remake a good face if you manage to, by some miracle make something you like, or for people to share their own Inquis.

Thank god for appearance mods, I'd have been unable to play DAI without them.

When I play a mage, I want to look as elegant and powerful as Vivienne does.

When I play a rogue, I want to look tribal and light on my feet.

Everything is so chunky and armory, especially the high end armors... I want armor that helps me really immerse into my character.

I don't need convenient looking gear, I want fantasy, interesting designs!

Like I really want to make Iron  Bull a sword from Dawnstone.

Ok but, Bull actually likes dawnstone...

Iron Bull: Hey, Blackwall, what would your ideal blade be forged from?
Blackwall: Well, many famous Warden blades were made from Silverite. It seems to work well on darkspawn.
Blackwall: And you? Clearly a man who enjoys a good blade. Bloodstone, perhaps?
Iron Bull: Nah. Bloodstone's great at holding an edge, but that sharpness leaves it brittle.
Iron Bull: You may not have noticed, but I'm not a finesse fighter.
Iron Bull: I guess I'd go with Dawnstone.
Blackwall: Dawnstone? That's even more brittle than Bloodstone.
Iron Bull: Yes... Really damn pretty, though.
Blackwall: It's pink.
Iron Bull: It's pretty.

That's why mods are essential..... Man,I want an armor for my male character that shows more skin, and some night gown like armors for female... The armors in DA2 are pretty, why can't they fight in pretty armors in DAI too?

The Qunari mage armors shows more skin, but the textures looks like ten years old pajamas. And the basic warrior armors looks like tinfoil...I need more skin or something tighter and sexier!

I wanted something that looks like DA:O's Heavy Plate Armor. Or King Cailan's armor. Or the Kirkwall Guard armor (for non-humans as well).

I don't normally "like" year-old posts because I figure it's kinda rude, but I felt I had to for this OP.
