So I guess Leliana with conscripted mages is the best ending for most.

Whatever. You can have your templars taken away like a rank amateur.

Willing Allies will always fight harder than people who don't have a choice to be there or not...

The templars were willing to be join the Inquisition even as conscripts. -_- did we watch the same scene? Barris straight up asks if they're okay with it and they bow.

Regardless of indications in Rivain, Avvars prove that mages indeed can be freearrow-10x10.png while not being rulers.

And the "indication" in case of Rivain is disputable when you take into accountarrow-10x10.png the fact that the Seers explicitly pledge loyalty to the queen who is not a mage afaik. Though you definitelly could make a compelling case of Rivain being mage-governed, regardless of who the highest authority on national scale is.

Equal? No. But it is some indication. The system is, apparently, working - and has been working for a long time, all this with strong support of society. That's a pretty good indication that it is not as disastrous as some people would like to assume.

Depending on who you'd ask, mages ruling is very much the opposite of a working system.

And we do not know enough about the Avvars.

Everyone is letting me down today. That's not worth agreeing with her, and you both know it.

But to be frank, I still control them. They serve me by holy mandate. "Templars serve the Maker and the Light of Andraste." Who's the "Light of Andraste?" This guy.

Yeah, I suppose you have a point. The outcome that's best for the Order is the outcome I'll support.

Funny since that's a pro-mage thing.

There are always some whos. Depending on who you'd ask you can get the exact opposite response. Both ways it's just circular logic.

I like fighting standong above them, Im the Fu**ing Herald of Andraste, I fight above all people.

And at the moment it really made sense to integrate them to the Inquisition, we needed more soldiers and the help of templars to stop the Breach. The templars didnt have any chain of command and a alliance with them, would strain the Inquisition's resources.
Conscripting them was a Win-Win situation.

Lol why would you take either faction as free allies, after the wonderful display of responsibility and common sense that was the Mage/Templar war?

Put these ****ers on a leash and straighten them out.

You can promote him either way, the dialogue in the cutscenes is even a little different to reflect that.

It's just... extremely prone to bugging out.

My all-mage-sympathy dalish mage wholeheartedly supporting the idea of mages fighting for their freedom had a different opinion on the subject.

Then Fiona and Magister happened.

HOW THE F*** WAS HE SUPPOSED TO TREAT THEM SERIOUSLY AFTER THAT!? Especially with her still in charge...

Conscription all the way.

Because I believe in the templars that fought beside me against the corruption that had taken root in their order. They were willing to fight against the corruption since it was their now dead leaders who are responsible, and despite that See Barris their de facto leader still accepts the blame. They trust in me, so I shall trust in them.

As for the mages....I got nothing. They do nothing to help during their quest and are basically criminals when you recruit them. Honestly surprised the Fereldan monarch didn't try and take Fiona's head.

Is not something Andraste would say. You are not her Herald anymore than Corypheus is.

This is actually some pretty shitty reasoning to conscript the Templars. The terms of the alliances is that they had to serve the Inquisition until the crisis was over. The point of conscripting them or not is to punish them for their actions by dismantling them or to help those left rebuild the order with your approval. Just as conscripting the mages is either to punish them for their actions at Redcliffe or to support their college.

Well, to be fair, in the game it's not presented as clearly as you put it here.

Say it to the people of Thedas, they love me.

What the Inquisitor says when you conscript them is completely different of what you wrote.
He said there is no time to wait the order rebuild and advise them to disband the Order and join the Inquisition, all Templars agreed with this decision. You can say my reasons are shitty, but they are supported by the game.

Whether they are genuinely repentant or not doesn't matter, the damage had been done. What's more, Barris admits that they are fractured and leaderless after Therinfal. Since they have proven they cannot handle independence, they will submit to your command, to be returned to the Chantry's authority after the conflict is resolved.

I allied with the mages because I think they deserve the chance to prove they can watch themselves. Now that the templar threat is removed there are also no more excuses.
