I hope someone is listening... even if some of us are rude, we're here because we love dragon age.

I just thought it deserved to be said, I loved origins, I loved 2... and as far as main story content goes I love DAI. I loved tactics menus, attribute points (I miss both), I loved the dragon fights in DAI, I hated the fetch quests with no payoff and god of secrets for leading up to what could ahve been awesome and giving me a dispair demon with more HP. I miss seeing enemies introduced in cut scenes, and conversations that were fully cinematic and not just  a slight zoom on regular character models. I miss feeling personally involved, and sometimes i get to, but outside of the main quests, even in most companion quests, we never quite get to.

I hope bioware is watching, I hope they're listening even if they don't respond. I hope the dlc for inquisition will have cities and heavy story, with tragedy and the sort of content we love from bioware. I hope we'll see anora and shale, and many of the others from past games. I hope we'll get to see our warden again (and hopefully play as him/her, even if it's in the next game).

I hope morrigan will one day acknowledge the fact my warden stabbed her, as opposed to thinking they're in love.

I hope Bioware knows we just want what we love, and we don't want skyrim, and we don't want world of warcraft... we want dragon age. And we're here because we love it.

Deserves to be said.

l after that heart felt plea, I feel we should get some inflammatory concepts rolling to pull in a moderator.  Kidding aside, automation makes it hard to see, but there is some review of any item posted - how else would they know who and what to exclude.

Take care

Well said.

But as for your plea for Bioware listen... haha, good luck, friend. They've got their money and even if some of them know the game wasn't done, they won't admit releasing it unfinished because that's bad for business. As a Bioware fan, I would love to see them admit a big mistake, but that's never happening.

I agree with your general sentiment, OP. Even when I see people being somewhat hurtful, I try to remind myself they're here because they love the series, and want to see the best come from Bioware. I hope the devs can see that too. Fingers crossed for only better and better things to come from them in the future.

Just because they love the series, doesn't give them the excuse to be rude to the devs.

True.  And conversely, just because they can get away with it, doesn't give the company an excuse to be disrespectful of its customer base.  It would be nice to see something from on high about issues in the form of straight answers and honest talk.  I understand that working for a living is stressful, because I too work for a living, but I don't qualify every statement to a client or customer with "I've got a lot of work to do and I feel pressured by your requirements."

Actually, I think a lot of people have a right to be rude to the devs.

Because at the end of the day, they're putting money into their pockets. Money that they have happily taken, in exchange for a game that doesn't even work properly for a lot of people...

If the developers feel it's okay to lie and mislead on a game, then they don't deserve to be treated with the respect they did not show.

No, they have a right to be annoyed at the devs.  They have a right to demand answers and fixes.  And they have the right to a finished, honest product.  At almost no time do I perceive an appropriate time for personal attacks or wild inflammatory screaming.

Of course this may depend on the definition of "rude," which isn't the same for all of us.  If someone is being intentionally snarky, I do not consider return snark to be rude.  But there can be a pretty clear line between "being a wise-ass" and "being a jerk."  You don't have to be a jerk to make your points, even if you're completely (and justifiably) honked off.

No, just no.

No one has the right to be rude, the devs do not deserve abuse of any kind.

The developers created a game, it is up to the consumer to research the game and decide if it is something they feel they will enjoy or not.

Constructive Criticism is welcome, but again you nor anyone else has a right to be rude towards other people.

Unless you have proof of this I would be mindful as this is considered slander.

That's your opinion, bro.

I don't conform to political correctness.

It's rude to market a game that doesn't work properly and take the money for it then.... not give a toss whether the consumers can actually play it or not.

These "patches" aren't actually fixing a lot, going by what I'm reading for a lot of p*ssed off people.

Constructive criticism? Pfft. That's just a politically correct way of complaining and being rude, and a farce at that.

Well this thread is going to go downhill pretty quickly.

I like Dragon Age Inquisition and appreciate it. I appreciate it so much that I think a lot about it, and am critical about it's faults.

Usually, though, I'm the biggest ass when it comes to the writing. Am I sorry? No, I think I have the right to say when bad writing is bad, just as I am allowed to criticize the game for its bugs and faults.

I consider the line between rudeness and being critical crossed when someone puts words into the devs mouths and determine their motivations for them, though. That just bugs me.

If you went to a 5 star restaurant, ordered a medium rare steak, hand-cut chips and some fancy, tasty salad to go with it, paid a fair amount of money for this product, then instead received... an overcooked, charcoal steak, cold soggy chips and a salad made up of rotten ingredients... would you be rude?

Most people in that situation would be rude to the managers, the chefs, etc. Should that customer have done their research, and if they did said research, and found nothing but glowing reviews about how great the food is at this particular restaurant (*cough* GOTY *cough*), don't you think the customer has a right to b*tch, complain and be rude?

Which is why I said constructive criticism.  If you are just rude to someone more often than not they will not listen to what you are saying as they will just see you as an entitled jerk.  However if you talk to the person and tell them you had an issue with the product and explain what that issue is then the creator will listen and make improvements for future products.

You can complain to the manager, sure. If you then got abusive, you would probably be thrown out.

Yes, but that isn't the point.

Also, people who have expressed "constructive criticism" have had their posts and complaints deleted. I should have mentioned this before... which is why I don't blame them for acting like "entitled jerks".

Now, I don't hate this game. I have mixed feelings, however, I can understand why people are angered about it, to the point where it isn't so much anger directed at the game as it is directed at BW and the devs, and how they are going about fixing something that shouldn't have been so broken in the first place.

Welllll, now you're being a bit silly.  It should be an addendum to Godwin's Law, never invoke "that is slander, sir!" on the Interwebz.

You should be able to find some examples.  I don't want to open the can of worms here, but there was a statement by an FCC official a while back regarding some BWEA marketing that sums up as "that's definitely false advertising under the definition of the law, but good luck doing anything about it."

Actually People criticized Dragon Age 2 for not having multiple playable races so Bioware made one of the game delays to implement this.

They also decided not to do DLC companions as people made criticisms that it felt like they were content being cut from the game.

The most hilarious thing is people like you who spend 99% of their time on this forum making posts mocking and insulting the game then come on to threads like this and say you love it. When you love something you don't laugh at it, insult it, call the people who make it names etc.

The other thing that makes me laugh is people saying the game isn't finished. If any game where a minority of the player base is having significant issues can be called unfinished then here hasn't been a triple a title that was finished in a long time.

Plenty of people played through the game for 100-200 hours, had no bugs, loved the game and moved on. You guys say those people shouldn't pretend they stand for everyone yet you all act as if you do.
