So i was running around on my mage at level 10 and decided to run at the the dragon in the hinterlands not so much to kill him but check out the area see what there was to loot or clam there. and then once i looked around i decided to give it a shot. and by standing far enough back near the dragon nest clame location i was able to kill the dragon by the mountain taking the fireballs and the adds not noticing me and his pull being to far away. At about 10% hp left the dragon just gave up and let me beat him down.

I feel this was too easy, to the point where i loaded before i engaged him just so I could come back later to fight him for real.

Not sure if this would count as a bug or perhaps I had just built up the idea of fighting the dragon that it was to easy then when i went to do it. But without testing it any level mage should be able to accomplish what i did if enough time and positioning is correct.

Just figured i should point this out

If true, then it's definitely a bug, and an exploit.

I just did the same thing. I wanted to claim my last landmark, and had scouted the area earlier. Being only level 9 the Fereldan Frostback had pretty much oneshotted my party, so I decided to just try to run around to get to the claim. Once on the cliff, however, I realised I can't make a claim in combat, so from aggravation I decided to just hurl some frostbolts on it from Solas since at that point he was the only one still alive. Took me forever to get it down though, since only his frostbolt and every other auto attack actually managed to hit the dragon. Adds could also be killed, so they weren't an issue.

Solo rogue Nightmare can just stealth up to the nest and then Long Shot exploit all day long.

If you don't fully enter the valley and remain behind a rock inside the passage leading to it, you can energy barrage it to death with a single mage. The dragon will never attack, and you can ignore the rest of the party as they keep running towards it and then get teleported back to you every time. Complete AI blackout, on both sides.
