I can see that if its a companion but why not have both the female desire demon with her chest, and the sculpted muscular naked dude desire demon for regular demons in the next installment?

While I'm all for DDD (Desire Demon Diversity), DDwD (Desire Demons with Dongs) would not be the equivalent of DDwT (Desire Demons with T!ts). You know, primary, secondary, all that. I'm hoping that DDD would also allow DiDD (Divine Desire Demons) at some point, because honestly, why do all demons have to be DeDD (Devilish Desire Demons). We should respect their DDDi (Desire Demon Direction), not just lump them all together.

How do you know they don't already have both? Their genitalia have never been revealed...

I doubt they have either. They're demons. It's not like they have a need to urinate or sexually reproduce.

My thoughts: Desire Demons simply didn't have a place in DAI. We're dealing with demons that are mindless and crazed from being dragged through the Fade. 

 

Simply fighting them wouldn't be worthwhile. They work best as NPCs who you beat the crap out of for not making a deal. Some of the same could be said of Pride Demons but those guys are just giants who scream "fight me fight me". 

 

Ishmael is the only one who is considered a Desire Demon and probably wasn't worthwhile to design a male Desire Demon for one tiny part (he didn't even get a cutscene...) as much as I would enjoy seeing it. They could have just given him a female voice but probably the decisions were overlapping each other and they said screw it. Next time. At least they got that cameo in the Hissing Wastes...at the very least.

I can't see why Bioware should invent a variant that looks like a nude male in the same way I can't see why they should invent a blue cold radiating rage demon or an ash wraith that spins the other way around. A dragon age game isn't less 'dragon age' if desire demons aren't included. It is less 'dragon age' when the design of demons is drastically altered. If you want a demon whose body resembles the body of a naked man, just ask for a new type of demon (temptation demon or something like that).

While I'm obviously biased about desire demons...

 

I just don't see the logic in having them feature as part of the game for two instalments then all of a sudden disappear... now if an explanation was provided, all good. If they were made extinct or something I'd probably want to suicide but that isn't the point.

 

And no, Imshael doesn't count. I'm talking desire demon in their classic form.

 Imshael to me did not really count as a desire demon.. not in appearance or in choices offered!!!

They said before that there have been desire demons that identify themselves as males.. It'd be wrong to assign them to simply one gender role..

I do agree with the TC. This game does feel like a kid version of the original game. It is shiny, bright, colourful and nowhere as serious dark, cruel, bloody, sexy, threatening, .....all together nowhere as mature as the first installment was. I miss it.

And to be honest if we take out Hawk Morigan and Flemmeth, we wouldn't now it is a DA game. And that is sad.

Origins' bland art direction and expansive rainbow of brown was one of it's biggest faults. Having more than 2 colors doesn't turn a game into Mario Sunshine.

Here's to hoping Broodmothers at least get added. I honestly don't care if Desire demons get added, it doesn't make sense that their nature would survive being zapped through a rift. Honestly, first thing I thought of when that was explained is that Desire demons probably ended up as wraiths or shades.

 

But Broodmothers, honestly those were the most horrifying opponents in DA:O. No, not because of how hideous they were (and I did think they were hideous) but because they still looked vaguely like dwarves... or because it was The Mother, with her freaky scream face. That gave me a visceral reaction, which has sadly been lost since Origins. I'd love to see more of the Deep Roads and run into one of the Broodmothers again, but only if they remain horrifying. Seeing an elf or Qunari Broodmother, can you imagine that in full HD?...

 

Probably better not to imagine that, actually
