IDEA: Unique character perks

Got this idea from looking back at past Bioware games; how would you feel if your companions and maybe the PC got unique character perks just for them? These would be free passive abilities exclusive to that character but are abilities that cannot (in almost all cases) be bought. What I mean by this is if say one character has a certain hatred for something they gain an attack boost when fighting that thing. These could be perks that start off with the character or are earned later on in the campaign, sort as better rewards for doing their personal quests. Some examples of perks could be as follows

 

- Scared of Darkspawn: character attack is lowered if fighting darkspawn that outnumber the party.

- Pyromancer: characters gains a bonus to all forms of fire-based attackers

- Mage Hunter: character gains an attack bonus against mages

- Beast Slayer: same as above, just substitute beasts

- Sword Master: Gains an attack bonus with swords (but not axes or maces), needs to be acquired during side mission

 

These perks can lend a little more depth to the characters as they differentiate themselves from their peers stat wise as well as helping to reflect developments in the story beyond changes in dialogue and choices

 

Just one of my ideas. Actually I mostly got the idea from BG's Minsc and his relationship with Dynahier or Aerie and how he goes into a rage if the character is downed
