Wouldnt Horn of Valor be a good fourth choice ability if your going for a support build? I'm thinking of incorporating more support based powers but also using something like shield bash for a bit of offensive powerI'm working in a Leader build with Bodyguard, Blessed Blades, Spell Purge, and a fourth skill I am still playing with. It's designed for more support than front line combat and has been fun so far, but many may not like it because it's not very "solo-able". Something I personally don't mind.

I ran a pure leader built yesterday (perilious) and it was a lot of fun, once my co-players realized how it worked. Got on some ppls friend list this way.
Blessed Blades: +10% damage
upgraded Horn of Valour: +35% damage
upgraded Shield Wall
Body Guard: 50% damage resist (and I had the feeling of almost total damage immunity myself, together with Shield Wall)
This is during uptime overall +55% damage and +45% armor plus 50% damage resist, for all players in range, and is already fully operational on level 12.
What I did is to just stick around with the ranged guys and keep all skills on CD. Do not bother to do damage, you can intercept a few stragglers which come close to your companions, though. The only critical moment is when bodyguard ran out but still is on CD for 9 more seconds; if your companions got too much used to the faboulos damage resist, they will die like fleas in those moments if enemies are not contained during that time (which largely only concerned the last level and some simultaneous pulls of the pre-end and end-groups of a level). What I also did was to ty to position myself with Shield Wall in the vector of ranged enemy attacks; however, few co-players realized this and moved away most of the time.
Later, I replaced Blessed Blades with Purge, as I felt it has a more valuable, if situational, use for the team and it would drop damage buff from only +55% to +45%.
Edit: Corrected damage %age figure after hint from Altruismo. Still powerful enough.

Why not Horn of Valor? I ran blessed blades, WoH, Spell Purge, and Horn for a long time, currently I've swapped Blades for Shield Bash. Of all the Templar skills, Horn of Valor is probably the one I would never leave out of a build, especially if I was looking to buff damage.

Silly me! I meant Horn of Valour not Blessed Blades lol. Blessed Blades was the tester skill.

upgraded Horn of Valour: +50% damage
It's only 35% - it's an upgrade from 15% to 35%, not an extra 35%.
Yes, I've tested it, and it's still a huge buff.
On the bright side, the Horn of Valor ring is one of the few that actually works, it lasts 13 seconds with the ring.
Edit: Reading more of your build and playstyle, it's the way I prefer to play my Templar too - avoid the front line (not run in and combo...) unless I've both got a dedicated barrier buddy and I need to be the front line - and stick with the range/support and act as an intercept with the AoE stun/combo and the knockdown from Shield Bash. I'll generally try to keep horn of valor up on at least the biggest damage dealer if not everyone as often is I can too.
I never had much luck trying to build guard with a Templar myself, I also felt like I was trying to be a bad version of a Legionnaire so I generally avoid guard/"tanky" builds.

OP, I spec into Shield wall, Horn of Valor, Wrath of Heaven and Spell Purge.
The Wrath of Heaven + Spell Purge combo is devastating. Give it a try.

I'm just trying to give some helpful advice, since you're struggling with a build.

It does not seem to scale up with difficulty fully unlike combos in mass effect. I tried it in a few gold games, it did not work very well. Or was I doing something wrong?
Unbound, on the other hand, is quite good. Just don't run there to grab the aggro first.

Hmm. This certainly sounds like a L2P problem.

That also. But still, the combo does not scale. Mooks on silver are mostly dead after it while on gold it takes away less that 1/2 of health. So, in that one game I ended up detonating/priming situationally with separate purge and WoH instead the chain lightning or static cage. And that keeper did not have no barrier, at least he did not cast it not a single time so some guard was needed.

I'm just messing with you. I've barely played the Templar, and haven't gone higher than threatening with her. I don't think I've even reached lvl 20 with her yet.

Well, it is quite an interesting character and certainly OP on threatening starting from about lvl 16 imo especially after DC nerf. WoH and purge have different cool downs and to go for a combo, you need to wait beyond the cool down instead of using an ability right away and this is lackluster. So, I was thinking that to max out dps, it is a good idea to use them separately provided that there is some other combo to be primed/detonated.

They have the same cooldown of 24 seconds, Dwarven Crusher Mace (enemies explode) is awesome for Perilous.

Promoted Templar 28+ times, still use Shield Wall (not upgraded) and Blessed Blades (upgraded).
