Look at how these elderly people are having fun playing Grand Theft Auto V. Don't you want your loyal players to have this much fun too?

You know whats so damn great about Grand Theft Auto V? is that you have FREEDOM whereas in Dragon Age inquisition you do not.

We want a fun game to play... not a borefest.

I would like to have the freedom walk up to a character like Cullen, and start punching him in the face... or going up to Mother Giselle, as a Qun worshiping Qunari, and start hitting on her too.

Hey fella, I know we have come to blows previously so I would really like to make amends.

I can see how much you would love to play a game like this, so I have dug and dug and dug and found this solution for you :)

Wait.....what? You mean play more than one game?

Thats....inspired.

Does this mean I could play one game to satisfy my need to punch pixels, and another game to satisfy my need to blast/slash/stab pixels?

Maybe......no. I mean.......no it would never work. But what if......

There's only one thing and one thing only that I'd like a Dragon Age game to emulate from any GTA, and that's having the NPC's around you react to what you're doing. If a fight breaks out, I want them to flee or possibly even get involved if they're armed, either helping you or your enemy, like in a good old fashioned tavern fight. Other than that, I don't want any DA to be anything like GTA.

Can't you already punch everyone in the face?

And isn't there a little bit of cognizant dissonance when people flip their **** about DAI being an "open world" and then turn around and ask for it to be more like GTA of all things?

We don't have that in Dragon Age Inquisition. None of my inquisition soldiers ever lend me a hand while I was fighting bears or any other enemies. They were a few feet away from me too, and armed with swords.

Edited: In Exalted plains I remember a pack of wolves manage to enter one of the bunkers that I've liberated from demons, and the wolves didn't even attack NPCs nor did they run away from the wolves.

I'm aware, which is why this is something I want. I want more reactivity from various NPC's.

Only Solas and Dorian.

Anyway, yeah. It's easy for GTA V to grant so much chaotic freedom, because nothing you do has any real effect on what little story there is anyway. You can be a mass murderer that wipes out hundreds of people and blows up entire city blocks worth of cars with no problem at all lol

Like why don't your scouting camps help you when you're being attacked? It's like they're just sitting there waiting for you to die :P

Hm I don't remember friendly npcs, but I do remember that in more than one ocasion the wolves or bears did attacked the enemy mobs (bandits, red templars).

There was a funny one in the emerald graves: I was after the smuggler letters for Cullen, and headed to the last camp. I noticed a giant fighting a great bear, near the camp. They got close so the templars attacked. In the middle of the fight, another giant walked around, picked up a big rock and facehitted one of the templars, and joined the brawl. I watched as the two giants killed everyone and then went back to their patrol route. I sneaked in the empty camp, grab the letters and walked away :)

So some way there is interaction between npcs. Maybe just the friendly ones not liking the boss :D

I watched a high dragon and a giant attack each other for a while. Not sure if it was a random incident in the stormy coast or not...

Can't say BioWare's been listening to it's fans without the wanted level system.  5 Stars and watch every authority in Southern Thedas come after you: local militias, Fereldan and Orlesian army regulars, Bounter Hunters, the Crows, a legion of Chevaliers, the King/Queen's royal guards, half the Templar Order.

Then you'll know how runaway mages feel  :P

I did observed a giant fighting with a few red templars, but that is only because the red templars was trying to capture the giant (alive) for their experiments.... seeing if they can lead an army of red lyrium tainted giants.

I love that system. I'm getting tired of playing as this big leader that everyone bows down to kiss ass. First I became the Warden Commander then I became the champion of Kirkwall, and now I'm the leader of the inquisition. Kinda boring if you ask me. I just want to be this average person with little important connections with politics and among other things.

As a mage player I want to play as a regular mage who is fighting for freedom. I want to be a member of the rebel mages fighting Templars. If I want to play as a warrior I can become a templar who is fighting to restore order.

Didn't DAI take too much from Skyrim?

Play DAI MP then. You'll get the experience of the average schmoe fighting for the big thing, i.e. what you think you want.

No, you won't ever accomplish anything in the process, but that's part of being the average schmoe with no influence nor impact.

Yeah the blowback on the "Champion" was that he wasn't heroic enough because in the end the city exploded - so we went back to the bog standard saves the world rising from obscurity character. Hawke's incomplete successes are why I still love DA2 because I'm tired of being the special snowflake who can save the world and save everyone all the time. There is a lot of room to roll play when you aren't the ubermensch, chosen one, Hegelian World Spirit on Horseback, man of destiny whatever.....thing is role playing games dont seem to across the board go that way.

I think that encounter is scripted. I've already played multiple times and each time the dragon and giant are fighting on the coast. The dragon always wins if you leave them to go at it and it flies off (can't fight it there apparently), but I intervene to get the XP from finishing off the giant.

Didn't DAI take too much from Skyrim?

DAI didn't take enough from Skyrim, and yes. It would be nice to have the freedom that you have in Skyrim... I can punch any NPC that I want... even kill them. In DA:I you don't have that option.

Play DAI MP then. You'll get the experience of the average schmoe fighting for the big thing, i.e. what you think you want.

DAI MP is cancer of this game. It was terrible. In order for me to be play as a mage I had to become an Elf. Didn't like that too much.

DA2 was not a bad game as most people say it is. It's actually a pretty good game considering the fact that I can make unethical decisions. The game does need some improvements thought.... perhaps Bioware should of been focusing on improving DA2 instead of making a whole new game... would be nice.

This is why I love DA2.... you wont see it in DAI.
