If you want a min/max build, this is the one .. made popular by Caneigis

http://kalence.drupa...!34T52373!DA.EG

If you really want to incur derision by other posters, simply replace the Omni Capacitors with Geth Scanner

This is the most effective Flamer build hands down .. sidearm optional, pretty much only needed for Guardians, unless you want to shoot their feet with your Acolyte

I sincerely hope that was a prank.

absolutely not ..

while BSNers may not like flamer kits, there is no denying the effectiveness of the all powerful no HM build GT

Edit: For very experienced players, the 66653 w Cyclonic or the 65654 w Power Amp is going to be superior .. but the non HM build is very powerful

I spec into flamer; it's fun to BBQ.  Without it, the Trooper is just a another weapons platform.  Albeit a good one but there are a few better ones  (ex: Destroyer, TSol)

You can also annoy that Vorcha flamer by flaming so he can't see a dang thing!  :)

Flamer is such a crutch, I don't use the GT on Plat. I roll a Talon GI like a pro.

I grew up in a strict catholic household, my parents bought me DC talk album with a Jesus is alright rap cover, it was horrible. I did not know that it was a doobie brothers song until I reached my teens. Now I just did a wiki search and the Doobie brothers covered it. Huh whatcha know

So... It's not min-max, is it?  :P

That's the only thing which threw me off from your previous statement...

Javelin + Venom is both fun and functional. I use Flamer sometimes on top of those weapons, albeit sporadically.

No HM GT is a min / max set up for people without a lot of cyclonics or power amps

I find it one of the few kits in the game you can pug Plat with sans consumables*DISCLAIMER

*never recommended - probably need an  Acolyte or Reegar

ThisIs my build for Gold/Plat.

Yes. It is not top notch.

Yes. It is not a press-to-win build.

But when you've a spitfire with a minute of full auto, screw the rules, I've ammo.

Shotty for banshee or phantoms, obliterate the rest with extreme prejudice: just mind the flanking.

I still have my Geth Trooper with Shield flamer last I checked. I'm satisfied with that experiment enough that I don't plan on changing it any time soon. It's a nice change of pace to mix things up for me. But I don't play Platinum or Solo. So naturally I don't go for the armour melt cheese. To me pugging Gold usually means shields annoy me. So having a nice shield stripper then finishing with some nice weapon penetration to melt armour works great. Plus it's still mostly a weapon focused tank setup, anyways. So works perfect for me.

Flamer really only feels fine to me on the Vorcha's because multi-priming & detonating is at least some fun. For the Vorcha's I only ever used armour flamer. Then again, I barely played Flamer Vorcha's.

Boring but effective.  The shield regen bonuses are somewhat hilarious though.

No flamer - always. Flamer is lame although I won't argue that it is the more 'effective' build.

I run him flamerless with the Javelin.  I don't even remember what the second weapon is because I never switch to it anyways.  Just something in case you run out of ammo on the Javelin.

I suck at (and am bored by) soloing, so when I went for Solo  Mastery, that was the character I used.  Throw on a cyclonic and you can almost just casually wander around shooting at things without a care in the world.

I go with flamer otherwise you've got nothing to do but point and shoot with the GT ... most boring kit ever. At least the flamer gives me another button to push occasionally.

Cool. I've taken a blend of everyone's suggestions. And it's been great on Gold so far.

Took Raider because I've never been a good enough shot with uber-accuracy weapons, especially when you only have one shot like the Claymore (although I may just need to get better with it for Plat). Flamer is hugely effective and entertaining in conjunction with a high DPS weapon, so yeah, it was too good to overlook. I elected shield/barrier Flamer because I generally need to melt the defenses of oncoming Phantoms or Hunters before finishing off w/the Raider, and anything armored I'm going to be taking cover from anyway. (And I know... lolphalanx. Just something lightweight to pick off distant Guardians during hacking or extraction. And I like the pew-pew sound it makes.)

Assuming Networked AI 4b, 5a, and 5b power synergy on Fortification to maximize flamer damage potential, who goes for Flamer 5a (460 damage x 5 sec = 2300) or 5b (380 damage x 8 sec = 3040)?

Either way you can kill an unshielded Gold Atlas in a single cast. :)

I prefer the higher impact damage of 5a as opposed to running Flamer an extra 3 seconds to gain 6 more stacks.
