Edit: This was a novelty. I'm back on my assassin for now. When I play my Ele again, it will be w/o FC. This is really only useful for soloing. To me, that's boring after a few rounds.

I discovered this earlier in the week and I've had my fun with it so here ya go:

Get Fade Cloak and Flashpoint. Proc Flashpoint, spam Fade Cloak. You're 99% immune to CC and damage and you become a walking bomb.

I play on PS4 so I'm not sure it works on other platforms.

You must be the host and you can't have another elementalist present, casting spells. The last part is because for some reason buffs are being shared between toons. In other words, when my friend would get a Flashpoint, I would receive one as well. Regardless of the fact that I was idle. This is kinda neat but it also means they can consume your buffs, glitching the glitch.

Before anyone starts ragging me about posting this, I can't be the first to discover it. Just the first that doesn't have to hoard it.

I can't imagine why there would be repercussions for posting this. All MP bugs are reported here.

The fact that I put a positive spin on it should be a welcome change to the mods here.

Also, there are different rules for PC and console users. Think of all the modding in Diablo 3.

My opinion is that it has been being abused for a long time but not being reported. Now they know about this bug and the one I mentioned regarding 'shared buffs.'
I noticed the very first time I put Fade Cloak on an elementalist. Tell me others have not been abusing it.
Doesn't help with making gold. Doesn't affect platinum sales. Doesn't likely generate much interest at BW.

Regular builds can already solo perilous without issue. The FC version is actually a bit slower than other ele builds, let alone slower than a full team.

Exactly, this technique is not as effective as the topic makes it out to be. It still needs a clever and good player, which is what the original poster is.

 

Nothing is being broken or exploited here.

Some of you have not tried it. It triggers no cooldown and consumes no mana. I can just walk through a zone, spamming circle and I am 100% immune to damage plus everything in melee range takes a knockback and 1000% weapon damage. Occasionally, a knockback would catch me and mess up the cycle.

Anyway, I don't anticipate trouble and I've never been a problem here.

It consumes mana, just not very much. 35 mana iirc. I repeat, there is no exploit. This is pretty much every time I fade cloak, ever.

Nah they just need to tweak how hose two things interact. Or they could stop them from interacting at all. Chaotic Focus only works with certain spells.
Outside of this the Ele is great but doesn't need sticks beating it down.

That's a real glitch for the PS4. Thought you were talking about just regular FP FC spam from the way you described it. Definitely does not occur on PC via mouse and keyboard.

Loop a macro and pew pew? Guarantee you if stats were run, you'd see evidence of matches with 99% Fade Cloak kills, dating back to launch.
