i must be very unlucky because I've done  two playthroughs and now I'm on my third, but I have NEVER found the dalish warrior schematic which pisses the hell out of me. The armor looks great and I'd like my dalish to wear them, but I can't seem to find the drop.

***ck this loot system.I understand the need to make some things harder to get, but making certain armors obtainable only by LUCK is just not right imo.

Also If I play a mage, I find almost zero mage outfits, but If I play a warrior, every 3rd or 4th loot I get is a mage outfit. <_<  So, WTF ? Took me some time to realize that it's actually happening cause I thought that I'm imagining it.

I really enjoy the game despite it's weaknesses, but some these things are so frustrating.

I guess I don't really mind the loot system.  I just wish it was a little more "restricted".  Like if I loot Unadin Grotto, an elven burial ground, I don't expect to find qunari vitaar

It really becomes a problem when you are looking for specific gear. Like for role playing purposes, people want the dalish warrior armor for their dalish warrior.

They could add the schematic as a high dragon drop in emprise du lion... or the merchant in the wastes,at least to skip us the pain of looking for it. Looking for it is fine as long as I don't have to " win the lottery" in order to get it.

Ironically the dalish the have the best looking outfits ingame imo..

yeah the RNG sucks in this game. It's like "Oh lets just give the players a lot of junk instead of stuff they can actually use."

This will probably be a really stupid question, but how do you know what an armor looks like if it's never dropped for you?

I would guess google, reddit, bsn or something like that :) I can't speak for Vader20, but when I was approaching the late game I was looking at some armor pics, because I had no idea if farming T3 schematics could be worthwhile or not.

I never knew it even existed until I googled the dalish scout armor and it redirected me to this forum where people were asking for it's location. The loot system is  a total disaster for me in terms of armors for my character. I really hope Bioware makes some adjustments...

I like RNG loot.  Just saying.

I'd like more RNG events in the game, particularly in combat.

Yeah the loot tables are TERRIBLE. And you see it right from the start, where you pick up level 7 head gear and you're like level 1. No storage so you know what that means - it gets sold.

Frankly, I can't believe it's RNG. Just supports my statements that DAI was supposed to be a MMO. Now it's a single player MMO.

See, this is the part I don't get. Why were you googling armor as opposed to, say, playing the game? What were you looking for?

It really sounds like BioWare took a substantial amount of design choices from SW:TOR, which is an MMO, and implemented into DA:I, which is primarily a single player game. Probably not the best idea they have ever had.

I wanted to see if the dalish have other playable armors besides the high keeper robes... That's how I found out about the scout armor and the warrior one.I was still a newbie to the game then.

Human Trained, Elf Trained armors are okay

But I haven't seen any armor designed specifically for Qunari or Dwarf.

The game pushes you to play humans because of how limited the game.

I would really enjoy it if they made cultural armor for EVERY race. Not even fair design, ontop of the RNG. The game is poor in that regard..

Because for the 17 levels i've played my armor has changed like 3 times, 90% of it looks the same on my Dwarven Warrior, so i asked in the forum and was told there are only two crafted or found Dwarven armors one warrior one rogue... the rest is generic..

That's why i googled..

The only T3 armor specifically for dwarves I know of is the Legion of the Dead armor, the schematic for it can be found in one of those tombs in Hissing Wastes I believe (guaranteed drop). If you use silverite as the main material, every class is able to equip it, if you use any other material, only warriors can.

I don't know of any qunari armor.

I am not sure if these racial armor restrictions are supposed to illustrate just how much more dominant humans (and elves to some extent) are than the other races in southern Thedas, but either way it is a terrible idea gameplay-wise.

Been doing my fair share of reloading in front chests too for dalish schematics, so far no luck.

I like rng loot to to a point, (and in mmos  I actually like farming :P) but with so little armor style variety in the first place, and schematics drops so low, and then the standing and reloading way of farming, no...

Well my other char is a qunari, maybe it´s a blessing in disguise, no special qunarish looking armors for her to hunt at all .

But yeah game needs more armor style variety, increased shematics drops or other way to get them. (And those poor qunari would really deserve some love too, like Iron Bull and multiplayer have gotten. With different models for male and female like the dalish get. )

If you mean by upgrades, than no, it has zero upgrade slots. (stats are adjusted for this a bit tho)

I hate that there are armors that are human trained or elf trained only. That so restricts the ability to wear some of the better armors in the game based on race instead of on class.

The worst one in that regard I looted was some nice "purple" dalish armor only for rogues. It had just a tiny catch, exactly zero party members were able to wear it, since Sera is not elf-trained and my Inquisitor was human. I don't really get these pointless class restrictions (vitaars for qunari and normal helmets for everybody else were ok though and made sense), finding armor that none of my 10 characters can equip is just weird.

My main issue with the RNG is that when I do get a rare pieceof equipment which looks good 99.9999999999999999% of the time it's complete rubbish and I never use it :(

And the ironic thing is the odds on me getting something cool looking and unique is 0.00000000000000001% oh the irony!!

I also dont get these suits of armour you find or craft that can't have the extra slots for arms and legs. Especially annoying when you waste crafting material not knowing until after you've made it.

Yeah, it's like one should do a thorough research of all the available schematics and plan accordingly (since crafted items are not salvageable) :D You can buy some T3 schematics from a vendor in Hissing Wastes, he sells at least one for each class that has upgrade slots and you can buy the schematics for these upgrades as well. His schematics are not the best ones available and they cost a pretty hefty sum of gold, but it is at least something (and the armors can look cool with certain upgrades). Imo all schematics should be either looted in specific locations (or from bosses or quests) or sold by vendors.

Btw he also sells a Templar armor schematic, human only, no upgrades available, but when crafted from dragon bones, it looks absolutely amazing on Cass :)
