The only users who would say DAI is the best RPG ever are PS4 users.......go figure.

Look at the PC users and XBox 360, PS3.....and see all the DAI posts......

DAO did not have the best graphics and eye candy like DAI does, but the frostbite 3 engine didn't exist back then and neither did current hardware.

DAO had excellent storylines, plots, quests, sub quests, DLC's and an expansion pack. DAO was more or less what a proper RPG is supposed to be and there was ISOMETRIC view.

DAO was not dumbed down, with simplifed skill trees and inventory system, items, etc.

DAO you could really get into the game and it was a VERY LONG GAME.

DAO worked with PC keyboard and mouse and console users.

Since then, DA2, became a console game, the quality and what you could do started to disapper and go downhill......but I remember reading the reviews, its the best RPG ever and of the year, etc.....sounds just like DAI.

DAI is much bigger than DA2 is a step in the right direction for sure but DAI is not the best RPG ever or even close to it.

DAI is enjoyable, I liked it but too simplifed, dumbed down and short game for me. The quality of plots and quests just isn't there compared to DAO and other RPG's.

What happened with DA2? DLC's never really happened and it was stopped soon after launch.

DAI needs many bugs fixed, and patch 3 is just the beginning.

I could run out and buy a PS4 right now, play DAI and say, its the best RPG ever becasue it was designed with the PS4 in mind and nothing else.

If everyone only posted how great something is, nothing changes and improves does it?

Users aren't posting negatives comments in threads becasue they're bored with nothing else better to do., Users are posting what they are experiencing playing DAI on their non PS4 system.

Bioware has to learn what made past games fantastic and add those options into their next gen games instead of taking them out and simplifing their games more and more and more.

All the posts of what is lacking in DAI should of been in DAI at launch.

All the options and features taken away did not add to DAI but took away what could of made it a great action rpg.

Play DAO with a PC, and then play DAI and tell me what you think of DAI.....I've played many rpg's and DAI is more for users who like simple games, hack and slash with their controller.

Or you could play DAI, not DAO and say its the best rpg ever when its not even close.

My experiences tell me games are getting simpler, more for console users who like simple games, much shorter games, and who have not played many rpg's from the past or even on a PC.

Look at all the posts from PC's, PS3 and XBox 360 users........hmmmmmm.

1) I am a PC user
2) I have had very little issues with the game
3) I found DAI to be fun and engaging
4) DAI receiving the GOTY award does not mean it's the "best game ever". It literally means that the folks giving out the award felt it was the game of the year. That's it.

I don't think you get to tell people how they should feel about a game. Even if someone thinks DAI is the best game ever, why do you feel the need to tell them they're wrong? Such a thing can only ever be a matter of opinion anyway. Feel free to say what you liked and didn't like and why but please leave out trying to tell everyone else what they ought to believe.

There are all kinds of people doing that though on the threads. There are quite a few people telling others how they should feel about a game, whether they agree to that opinion or not. Maybe it's on people themselves to agree or disagree with peoples statements.

The controls in MY opinion were very sub par and a weak attempt for a port. PS4 and XBONE were prioritized in development when they made a clear promise this would be a pc game for pc gamers. Not everyone agrees with this, but I don't think you should tell people that just because YOU enjoy it, they shouldn't complain about it.

I actually didn't. I believe I literally said "feel free to say what you liked and didn't like". I was offering a different perspective because I felt like you were saying nobody besides PS4 players were having a good time with the game.

Having a good time? yeah -- I had a good time, sorry OP. I just felt lied to about the controls being a problem, it was my personal feeling. I don't believe a majority of players will find my experience similar. I suggest everyone avoid making "all" "no one" statements too as this brings a disagreement from someone within your range.

DA:I, good game, just not the dragon age I expected it to be. I personally was hoping for something closer to DA:O and it didn't happen.

The experience with the bugs have made me more wary of buying another dragon age game however as the team has had 3 patches that failed to address the issues they presented.

Do I think they are not trying at all? Not at all -- They are trying, I think they are trying to fix the issues presented to them. I feel like players could be nicer, myself including, toward developers when presenting bugs. The issues that came with PC, 360 and PS3 for nearly 3 months brought me to that "irritable" state where reason is hardly a vocabulary word. Whether that's fair or not I don't know Elsariel. I laugh when someone tells me this game is the worst experience they had because they've not seen a truly 2/10 game.

Hostility came from feeling -ignored- or avoided. I've had some faith come back however when seeing some bioware reps come in and say "hey we like that suggestion". I'd like to see more of those posts happen. It does give me the hope that they are actually looking at suggestions instead of avoiding the community.

I don't think we can all agree on what "best" dragon age means. There were issues with DA:O, but I didn't notice them as much. I liked the controls of that game, the combat style, and my romance options (Morrigan). If I played a female inqui, Solas can only carry me so far in terms of enjoyment since I don't really feel that attached to Lavellan. SO -- Yeah, take that for what yall will.

I played both games on PC, and love them both about equally. (As far as I can tell so far - I've only spent two playthroughs and two hundred hours with DAI so far, whereas I played DAO nine times.)

I've also been playing CRPGs since 1993, and BioWare games since Baldur's Gate. It is not actually compulsory for people who played Old Skool CRPGs to think that everything is getting worse.

Maybe the transition from DA:O to DA2 was different for PC users, but for us console folks who don't care to own a gaming rig, DA2 at least allowed everyone to do what DA:O apparently could not, which was actually position characters along the field and actually adapt on the fly to the combat, which was something that was sorely missing on the PS3/XBox version of Origins.

I love it when people ****** about how shitty of an RPG DAI is and their only reference point is DAO as if it was any better.  Makes me feel old.  The games are all fun, but none of are like playing a real RPG, with real people who actually role play.

1. DAI was never meant to be DAO

2. Its a good game and I have played on on PS3, PS4 and PC and have had NO real issues.

3. If you don't like the game don't play it,

4. Is there as much emotional enjoyment in this game? No. But it still is a fun, enjoyable game.

5. They did not make this game just for you. Get over it.

6. Sorry you are frustrated.  A lot of people are and I think BW has heard.

Just take a deep breath and exhale slowly. Enjoy the game for what it is.

With a thread title like that you're really not saying anything new. It's still pretty good though. The good is just really short and concentrated, like a lot of things these days.

Some of this is really biased. but seriously if anyone buys this and cannot identify the problems you have listed it's because they have not played origins

So if anyone really wants to know why inquisition is so unbelievably flawed, go play origins.

Stopped reading right there. You need to get out and meet people with other consoles. :?

I do however agree with your thread title. DAI is not the best RPG ever. I'm a PS4 user btw.

I too have played many action rpg's and I mean many includng DAO, so when I say, DA2 and DAI are not great action rpg's and games of the year, that is correct.

What has been done since DAO and other action rpg's from that time, November .03, 2009......just over 5 years ago, not that long ago actually:

- no more isometric view

- can't look and move with mouse anymore

- not optimized for PC anymore, be we were told DAI was......!!

- dumbed down skills trees and inventory system, items, etc.

- short game

- end boss fight short and not worthy for an end boss

- useless side quests with no real purpose, repetitive

- no campsite

- no storage chest

- can't talk with party members whenever you want

- can't buy gifts for romancing and give them whenever you want

- can't talk with or be intimate with your romanced character whenever you want

- when finsihed game, no longer can talk and have romance with your romance character, like it never happened

- no pets

- no swimming, diving, searching for chests, sunken ships, etc.

- no buying a plot of land, building a place, custom inside and outside

- npc's just do nothing most of the time and are even frozen like statues

- can't interact with items, eat food, move and look in pots and barrels, sit down in a chair and at a table

- can't sleep in sleeping bag

- can't set time you nap or sleep

- can't make fire, cut wood, nothing

- can't scale mountains

- no marriage

- no option for kids

- plots and storyline not that great anymore

- can't buy a boat and go exploring whenever you want

- no sunsets and sunrises

- no real time sky and weather

- no whorehouse for naughty fun

These are just some things done in action rpg's from only a few years ago.....so why not in the latest frostbite 3 engine for DAI?

You keep on taking away what we can do, make the game shorter, simpler, but give us better graphics and cutscenes.....I guess they think we're simple and stupid?!

If Bioware makes a DA4 and impliments these ideas and more, like many action rpg's, then I can see DA4 being game of the year and the best action rpg in years.

Since this is a Dragon Age game, play DAO, the DLC's and Awanenings. Then play DAI and compare......you'll see what I mean how its gone downhill and in only 5+ years.

PC User here. I've had few issues with the game. The problem is the people on this forum think they are speaking for the entire audience when they're not.

Its not a perfect game but its a damn fun game and people are being ridiculous with their complaints.

What's best game in any genre is up to the people playing the game. While you may think game A is the best, I on other hand think that game B is the best thing  since sliced bread. Neither of us is wrong in thinking that, since each and everyone has their own tastes and niches.

Who wouldn't feel like complaining after all the issues they've received? Not everyone has a buggy experience, but when they do, they are going to have a negative outlook and a more critical view of flaws you may not even notice yourself. They will want what they want, and expecting everyone to be 'reasonable' is subjective to your own standards of what 'reasonable' is when it comes to complaints. :o

Fifa 15 career mode gives the payers more skills and "perks" to pick from and develop, than the rpg DA:I does. "Combat" in Fifa gives you more tactical options than DA:I, as well. Yes. I checked.

An rpg that has less options than a soccer game doesn't even belong in the top 50 list.

OP:  Agreed... Not even close... Could have been though.. If so many shortcuts werent taken..

I get the feeling, that everything was made just to look good on the surface.. enough so that a short demo, or crritic might find very interesting things.. Though, when one digs a little further, under the layer of pretty, you begin to find multitudes of problems, shortcomings, money saving, laziness, and plain bad development...  All neatly wraped up, in a pretty GOTY banner..Bought and payed for!

Someone who legitimately cannot play the game, im sorry, is not "being ridiculous" screaming from a mountain top.. You are no better either my friend.. Ive seen several of your posts, and you seem to be hell bent on shooting down any comment made from a person having a bad time.. Strolling through each and every forum with a vengeance! Like youre payed to do so in fact!

Theres nothign wrong with people demaning the product they bought and payed for, be in working order upon receiving!  Maybe you should take a step back, and ask yourself why you feel the need to patrol the forums acting in part as Bioware police, and righteous defender?!
