I've been mining volcanic aurum and stormheart metals and I keep on getting 1 metal everytime I mine them.
Only getting 1 metal when mining T3 metals?

welcome to MMOAge
would you like to pay 5 dollars to have a 5.73 chance at getting 2 or more metals when harvesting?

I could be completely wrong but I think its affected by your level, possibly to stop you getting OP gear easily...well, easier than it already is. Either way the MMO style RNG in single player RPGs sucks.

You could be right. I'll have to wait until I'm lvl 15+.

Start closing the rifts, and you'll get more than one. I think claiming the camps helps too.
I had that in my Nightmare run as well, with two mages dispelling the spawns, you might surprise yourself and find you can do it against those higher level rifts.

It happened to me when I first visited Emprise Du Lion. I only got 1 silverite per node. My next trip fared better.
Leave the zone and come back. It should fix itself eventually. I think it's a well-hidden bug.
It also only happened on my first playthrough. Must be a cache issue.

I think it's level based.

Posté 24 janvier 2015 - 02:38
It is level-based, you get one T3 metal at low levels, and easily 4-8 at high-levels.

Any idea what the threshold is? At what point does it switch to multiple chunks?

No idea about the thresholds.
When you go to Hissing Wastes right after getting Skyhold, you get one Nevarrite.
When you go there @level21, you get ~7 Nevarrite

it is level based, @ level 16 you will start to get multiple metals, never before, AND it is dependent on how many time you have done Mineral Samples for the area.
at level 16 i was getting 8 Everite occasionally, as far as i cant tell it is still random however

Does that apply to Fade Touched too?

Posté 25 janvier 2015 - 02:14
fade touched you can get at any level, i got a few fade touched iron will still in haven.
I have never however gotten 2 Fade touched from the same harvest.
I have gotten multiple regular metal at the same time as getting a fade touched however, the level 16 rule still applies.

I actually got one regular Paragon's Luster and two FT Paragon's Luster from a node in the Western Approach (the one practically right next to the first poisonous spring), but I assume that the chance of that happening is so astronomically low that I won't see it again anytime soon. When I saw that, I was all like... O_o;;;;fade touched you can get at any level, i got a few fade touched iron will still in haven.

I can confirm the level 16 threshold but how are you able to conclude mineral sampling has any effect before or after?

I know I've gotten Fade Touched at haven off the bat too, I was just wondering if the odds increased of getting it when your levels increase, like with getting more metal. Basically if they were tied to the same results, or separate

Yeah I discovered this when I sent my level 6 people sneaking across the hissing wastes to find some aurum in the canyon. Good idea but level scaled minerals, who would have guessed?

I had no idea those mineral samples mattered. I've been ignoring that stupid requisition officer all this time.

The bioware people were smart and knew we'd try sneaking in and getting advanced minerals early.

The thing is, it does nothing but create a timesink. Whether you get 1 or 1000 you can still get as many as you want with enough repetition.

Never had a problem really when I net 7-8 a piece. by the time I leave some areas I have enough for a good suit of armor.
If it is tied to the requisition officer stuff...well good. They made that actually important to do.

Still not worth it. Requisitions are anti-fun.
