I'd like to first start off by saying necromancer/fire tree would see more of the benefit to this. There are several passives that increase damage dealt toward "feared" targets, and as reavers have the ability to cause "fear" (on multiplayer) I'd like to ask you, the community, to voice your opinion on whether you'd like to see Fear or Terror effects more as a paralytic rather than a flight mechanic.
Something to note
CC's allow you to have great control over your enemies and encourage good teamwork. Luring enemies into a blizzard for example to keep them frozen in place helps the party damage down. I'd like to see the fear mechanic (myself) turn into a paralyzing mechanic (like demon commander).
Why? Because fearing your enemy causes chaos (naturally) for both sides. As it currently works, you can see them running away from the party (not attacking your group) but this limits your functionality.
How this would benefit fire? You'd have them paralyzed within your damage effects, gathering more yield from those passives, duration + damage bonus. OF COURSE there is a downside to this. That is, fear would just be another fancy term for a stun mechanic. The only difference however would result in who benefits most from the attack (fire/necromancy for fear, most rogue abilities for incapacitated). I am not sure if terror effects break out quicker based on damage taken but developers would know.
Motivation for this change doesn't just come from MP. It felt like in SP I had to choose between Rift Mage and Knight Sentinel for functionality for my group. The passives for necromancer were fun, life taken on death for example from enemies nearby me.. I realize that Necromancers in MP and SP are different in options (Can only be a necro with frost abilities) but this would also extend to fire, where fire has a mechanic that causes your targets to flee (or terror effect).
There are quite a few good suggestions here on the feedback section and I feel like this one is one worth a look over (myself). Pending the interest or concerns of others, points to raise from the community, I ask you, developers, also for your ideas on this? Interest level or why it cannot be maybe, at all. Would like to hear from ya!
