So, you are complaining that we act like adults? Sorry, I will try to find my inner child again (or rather my inner adolescent, given the topic).

failing to understand fiction and non fiction are two different things and not bound to the same rules is not acting like adults.

Miranda does just well in the alternate armor as she does in the skintight armor she wears.

My presence and your existence proves otherwise.

I honestly think that I know more about the 'realism' here than most people here in this context. And it's not as real as you'd think.

Let me guess: you've got a red pill and a blue pill in your hands? :P

What parts of the Mass Effect universe is not bound to the same rules as the real world? Everything in the games is based off our own understanding of the universe.

Or just as well in the skintight armor as the regular armor.

Nope. Well, I can, if you want it.

Except the speculative fiction that takes place that clearly isn't. Namely, most of it.

You know, one thing I ma really happy about since ME2 is the fact that appearance doesn't impact stats for squad mates and that Shepard's armors are pretty much on par, so you can choose your outfits freely. In a cinematic game like ME, I like to choose armor for appearance rather than stats. It kind of annoyed me in DA:I that the two were linked.

@Sirzechs_Krios: Let me rephrase my previous post, so the sarcasm becomes apparent:

Hope that's better.

There are quite a few. One example from each game - Thorian, Lazarus Project, Synthesis.

They do still affect stats in ME3, such as shields/Power Recharge/Power Damage for the squad etc, but I do go for appearances over stats especially when I already have 200% recharge.

The squad mate appearances do? I thought it was only Shep's armor that has stats (and they are all pretty much on the same level, no armor is considerably more powerful than others AFAIK). I might be wrong though.

I'm wondering if this warrants a serious reply, I'll just go with Shepard getting spaced, Mass relays, Space magic, blue babes, etc etc etc.

The armor for squadmates do have stats. It might be more shiields, more weapon damage, faster cooldown or longer power duration.

Wow, ok, I did not know that. Was that already the case in ME2?

Yeah the squad armors too,

One of Liara armor goes for recharge while the other is Power damage, EDI's default is 25% shielding and the Black suit is Power Recharge 25%.

Nah ME2 is the only one you can wear what you want, the shep stats are useless and the squadmates don't have any.

Wait? You never noticed that squadmates outfits had different stats? O.o Well, that's a first.

No, it wasn't the case in ME2.

I'm going to agree with OP on Kaidan. And only Kaidan.

Lore states that he's a Biotic and thus needs to consume more calories. He'd need to eat ALOT to look like that. Like...really. Alot. He should be slimmer.

However...he is also using the same exact model/mesh as Shepard and Cortez so I can forgive that and handwave as cutting corners.

Haha, no I didn't. Thanks for the info guys. Well, I did play through the game on insanity already, so I guess those stats are not exactly critical. Nice knowing though.

Miranda is an interesting one. Her default ME2 and ME3 outfit is pretty daft.

This is (just about) ok for mooching around the Normandy (although a size bigger would have helped her arse out):

However her alternate armour has quite a few advantages in my opinion from an immersion and design point of view.

Seems more fitting for some of the extreme environments:

Fits in better when compared to the other squaddies:

Makes her look pretty badass when required:

And is still capable, for the 12 year olds amongst you, for a bit of Massively approved fan service:

Shame they went back to the other version in ME3 (and carried on with the arse cam). Although I do prefer the alternate version that was done for her:

The visor has to go though, it looks so dumb. Nobody but Garrus even suits it.

I love the personal attack on me.

I'm not denying the practicality of the armor in some contexts, but I am saying it's not necessary in many environments.
