Hey, this is my first play-through, so I need some advice. I'm going to play mainly with my DW Artificer and Cassandra, Solas and Sera, and feel a bit overwhelmed by how to skill my companions.

Cassandra:

Mostly Vanguard and Templar, I guess? Make her my Tank and combo Weaken with Rift mage's Fade Weaken? Also Wrath of Heavon to enable Mercy Killings by my rogues.

Solas:

Debilitator, or Debilitator AND damage dealer? Is Storm and Rift mage the best combination for my Party? The mage skills are overwhelming for me.

Sera:

Tempest for freezing, Mercy Killing for crits, what more?

As you can see, I really don't know enough yet to mae informed decisions. Any advice is appreciated!

To abuse crit procs I use Cassandra as two handed with vanguard and battlemaster, only taking the first dispell from Templar.
Solas I take the left side of rift up to upgraded pull and then upgraded fist in the right side. Then spec for fire up to fire mine and the cooldown passive. Energy barrage with ice staff for coverage.
Sera you want leaping shot to combo with hook and tackle, longshot to combo with flask of fire and flask of lightning to auto attack and crit a lot to proc your cd reduction.
As for yourself you should know what to do.
Gear wise you should prefer leather offence to give critical chance and leather utility to give cunning. In the beggining it's easier to find cunning+ leather than to find crit+ leather so that begs consideration.
Before you ask about the no tank thing due to solas's weakening dudes and casting barrier you should have no problem. Also, try to save your flashpoint procs for barrier or pull of the abyss.
When you are playing you should control your teammates to set up then switch to you quizz to finish the job.
Sorry for the long post, I don't want to have to clarify anything later.
