Its not the tracking; the animation is just not very intuitive.

In other games, moves of this nature (backstabs) typically have some sort of windup or a delay after the fact. In DAI, Twin Fangs is quick to use, but weirdly slows down considerably before contact. That delay is long enough that a moving target can simply walk out of the way. Its not very intuitive, I feel. Ironically, the move has decent tracking/homing, unlike the extremely annoying Hidden Blades or Mark of Death or, hell, even the bow's normal attacks. What's worse, the enemies do account for movement direction and speed in their attacks, so its outright perplexing that we, for some reason, don't.

It's both... and the fact that dagger range is non existent... Sometimes prone enemies are out of range of dagger attacks.

I don't consider this a big flaw to be honest. When you target an enemy with a homing power you jump to the location where he is at that moment. Rely on your cloak, don't rush, and you can pick each kill with the precision that divides the Assassin from other classes.

For the Alchemist I rely on the other powers so yea :P

If you really want to attack moving targets, attack them when they're coming at you. You'll sacrifice the flanking damage, but it will at least slow them down. You have 30 seconds of cloak which you can activate immediately if you kill, so don't waste it!

Famous assassin olympic discipline: Twinfang-hopping. Usually done with a representative golden nug.

I really dislike it but struggle to find something that does huge damage to replace it with that will let me have enough skill points for flank attack all the passives I want.

shadow strike doesn't seem to work with "i was never here" . don't know if that's been fixed at all though.

deathblow is a bit too far down the tree, I only go to Unforgiving chain for Throatcutter as Sneak attack is pointless if you have Knife in the shadows. same with spinning blades but you are exposed out of stealth far too long for my liking.

since I have a lot of good gear for stacking flanking damage, I'm pretty much forced to use it. often I end up stealth chasing an enemy half way across the room as they rush to some warrior with aggro. the main issue with it is the slight jump delay, often I get "blocked" or do half damage from stealth as the enemy can turn around in the time it takes to land, so it only works well on enemies who are definitely focused on someone else, regardless if you are stealthed or not. I just save it for one-shotting stationary archers or large enemies who don't move much.

I think a nice fix would be that missing flank attack doesn't drop you out of stealth, or that it's a faster hit so you don't have to worry about timing if you're hitting a moving target (would also fix melee mobs managing to turn around before it hits).

It's more than Knife in the Shadows is pointless with good Sneak Attack, since that lets you rain criticals down upon your foes with basic attacks as well as with your one hit from stealth.  Deathblow is indeed far, but I can just fit it into my build right at the last levels.

Is it notorious for Hidden Blades to miss? It´s actually the only power that mostly connects alright for me.

It's good in most situations, but on targets moving sufficiently quickly perpendicular to you it'll whiff like all the linear projectiles, and it occasionally has trouble targeting things that are close by horizontally but above you vertically, it'll go over their head.
