exploration is one of few things good about DAI, man
Yeah, if you decide to turn the music in game off and roll some "The Heavy - Short Change Hero"...

If you are comparing DAI to the game I'm thinking you are refering to, that game has one thing the industry has to note; Mods. The amount of stuff Bethesda gets away with by mods - because they allow you the tools to reverse engineer and muck around with their game within hardcoded limits.
Even with games like Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, I try to rate them strictly in terms of the developer created experience, even if there are mods that I love. I don't think it should be up to modders to create a coherent/enjoyable game experience which the game developers are unable to provide. Even if fan modders managed to solve every single one of Inquisition's PC issues (just as an example), I wouldn't be willing to credit Bioware with that in deciding how I rank DA:I.

I like the exploration. I will explore nothingness to find out what is there and what is not. That is the point of exploration. I am of the opinion Let's see what's out there.

Tools were not provided by Bioware, hence I can't give Bioware credit for - instance, the walking mod that I couldn't shut up about since it became available. However, they were provided by Bethesda.

Me too, that's one of the sold and very strong parts of DA:I.

It's plain boring without music. To find what I'm speaking about try to explore Hinterlands with that or something like that.
Exploration -> also why... walking on PC with M+KB! Hello! Big oversight and fans trying to play over the holidays were confronted with it for 2 months.
Sure it's fixed now (though this 30 FPS issue is troubling several players it seems). But in the end, they were obviously understaffed during post-release support.
The mark from that facepalm is still on my forehead on release.

Yes, they need to work on their post-release support, BAD.
In my opinion, it's hard to pinpoint the blame in something like this, it's still a business, people are still doing their jobs, "Bioware" as a whole needs to get this sorted.
I look at the standard released games without mods. I evaluate all games as the developer released them. If the game has to depend on mods to get it into an acceptable shape then it is going to score low on my list. I waited for three years to purchase a certain game because of experience with other games in the series. I waited to see how well the developer would patch the game. I picked it up at a bargain price. The game was still a bugfest with broken quests. The only redeeming factor was that I bought it at a bargain price and this game was given a GOTY fancy that.

I spent a great deal of time in the Hinterlands. I explored the entire region. I told you I like exploration.
I have played many cRPGs. I explore and map everything.

Oki. **** it. Did you get my point, friend?..
I read the OP's post about Bioware like Luke speaking about Vader, "there is good in him, I have felt it". I'm more of the Obi Wan inclination: "he's more machine than man now".
Bioware didn't fix those either. In fact, when I posted on the DA facebook page. Asking if anyone had a solution that might get me around the bug, the posts got deleted. 5 times.
Stunning customer treatment right there. Not sure if I have seen anything like it. Saw other posts abut bugs get deleted too.
That's why I use "Bioware" instead of Bioware.

If your point meaning I had fun then yes I had fun.
Thanks, Jackal, for making this thread because this is a topic that I had on my mind, too. I withdrew from the forum before the game was released because I didn't want any spoilers. After I had finished it I came back except that it seems empty now somehow. A lot of developers are propbably on a well deserved vacation and that's awesome. But as I understand some others have left because the forum became a 'hostile environment'. And if that's true it certainly breaks my heart. I always thought the interaction with fans was very cool and it would make me sad to see that vanish. I also agree that fans are very passionate, that discussions can be very heated and that things can get out of line. Not cool! And it is sad that a lot of forumites seem to focus on the bad stuff only. In the past few days I was under the impression that people like to complain a lot - and they are entitled to - but I don't think the feedback from the fans is always that constructive because it's very onesided. So, I understand the devs, too. That must be so disappointing. However, I think that if you work in a creative field, feedback is important. And if someone from BW is still reading here, it would be great if you could focus on the constructive feedback. I would be very happy to see some communication again
.

What do you have for brain, mate?..
My point is DA:I lacks exploration music. Without the music all exploration charm goes off, like it was in Omega DLC. So if you turn something on by yourself it may be entertaining, yes, I agree.

He's got a point. I never would have bothered with Dark Souls if it wasn't for all that exploration music...

I have to agree with you on Omega DLC, not just music, but the sound cuts off breaking the immersion. Is it fixed yet BTW?
There are people with these issues throughout the ENTIRE DAI experience too. I'm one of the lucky ones.

It wasn't few months ago on my last replay. Stunning visuals, great leveldesign... And, suddenly, those Aria bugs and music cuts off... :/ Modders said somewhere that there's simply no music to play in the DLC. Unfinished product.
Damn...

I have been playing cRPGs since Akalabeth which had no music. So I do not need music to explore. I have played quite a few cRPGs with no music or even putting on music. S o exploration is still entertaining for me.

You didn't even listen to Creedence while playing Akalabeth?

No, music tends to distract me while I am mapping, especially in the Wizardry and Alternate Reality games where there are teleporter squares in the dungeons.

Did you enjoy the exploration music in Might and Magic 6? I am assuming you have played that one.
