I bought this game a couple of days ago from gog.com and their version works on newer operating systems. Just now, I bought Kotor 2 just because the first one works for my laptop. My specs are horrible and the game works with all visual settings running on the highest settings. I'm playing it on a cheap HP notebook laptop with a Windows 8.1 operating system. Do not buy this game from Steam. GOG has basically updated the game to make it run on newer operating systems.

 

I highly recommend getting this game from gog.

Have a look at star wars rebellion as well... runs on very low end systems.
