Aveline has taken Carver somewhere far away from whatever is going on. Hawke tells my IQ this when they first meet.

At the start of Inquisition he is scouting near the Anderfels border, then by the end of Haven Aveline has taken his somewhere "Far away from Orlais" no idea where that might be, maybe Rivain?
Probably Tevinter or The Anderfels though, everyone seems to be heading there in preperation for DA4

Varric and Cassandra have a banter post-Fade, if Hawke is still alive: Varric says that he, Carver and (love interest, Anders in my case) would find Hawke and travel together again after the Inquisition's business is over.
