I've played all 3 games in the series to completion atleast twice. Just getting that out of the way. As per game I've also fully adventured ie turning over every stone in the game to its max potential. This game does have its moments, mostly in the beginning and Varrics banter. This 3rd installment , well... It lacks a few things and tries to make up for others. Not saying it isn't a good game, but the main disappointment is its inconsistency, imbalance and the story losing its drive down the finish line.

Combat is not too bad, could be better, especially after the new patch. One has to actually hunt down their toon if using a controller(PC Version) to select their character. Before it would take you to your toons location. Not so anymore..Weird I know. Secondly having other classes role diminished or no longer needed. Ie, Knight Enchanters and rogues come to mind off the bat.(meaning they are that OP'd).

I felt like on this go around that party involvement with one another was lacking as well, tho Cassandras and Varrics banter, had its moments. Loot wise I felt it needs more work. I remember back in the good ole days that getting a good loot drop was an accomplishment. Not so much anymore. Adventuring is sketchy at best. If you advance the Main story line too far ahead, it makes some areas a moot point. (Emerald Isles comes to mind) Tip. Do this area first before going to the Ball with Celine and the little conspiracy theory or it will make those quests go away. I feel the best way to of handled this would of been, to be to scale the area with what lvl your are with a prerequisite of a starting lvl. And if one did happen to advance too far, give it an alternate route of completion.

The game started out enthralling in the beginning, but as it advanced( maybe it's just me) but it became easier. As for the End Game, my take is that it seemed a lil bit too rushed with no build up/ drama to it. Kind of a let down in my eyes. After all the ending aspect of a game should be its highlight am I right? The end dialog/conclusion was not typically as expected either. Seems to me that as the game got past the midway point, the developers lost steam, creativity or just grew tired of it imo.. I know it's knitpicking but storyline is what drives a game for me, along with a combination of hack and slash with rewards to show for ones accomplishment.  I'll end my ranting now, but just wanted to give my take on it. Don't let this discourage you from seeing things as you prefer, since we all have different views/opinions. Bottom line. Game was good but still needs a bit of work and sprucing up to be done.

Providing very valid reasons for why the story sucked is not nitpicking at all.

I don't think developers lost steam. After ME3, I think that BioWare wanted to go for the safest villain/ending imaginable. The result was a boring cliche.
