There is a lot more than a black person and a homosexual missing from that table.

if we were gonna put one person for every conceivable race and orientation the Inquisitor wouldn't be able to see the table

I know. I was just saying that the OP was missing a lot of people if they want one person to represent each race/gender/sexuality/etc.

Uh, you could play a gay character and be that representative at the War Table.

Oh my god. What's a future Bioware not gonna be like if Bioware starts pleasing minorities any more than they already do. Imagine Mass Effect 6: every scene has at least one character of each sexuality in them, and there needs to be at least one plug for trangenderism in a main mission, two gay themed companion quests and a city where only bisexual nudists live.
Bioware is already pleasing crowds waaaaaaaay too much IMO. Good with some homosexual representation - really anything that reflects our society as it can contribute to making the story more insightful, but it not if it cheapens the fiction or lore. Dorian was on the verge of being too much of an immersion breaker.
Game of Thrones sold me better on how it treated its gay characters. It's low fantasy and has a lot of medieval symmetries, you know, back when gay could make one's death justified. Honestly that's how I prefer medieval fantasies. Not because I'm anti gay, but because I think it makes it more authentic.

Dorian makes a point of saying he is a pariah because he is gay. I don't know what you thought about Dorian was immersion breaking. Homosexuality doesn't seem to be an issue in Thedas. It's not "medieval age" it's dragon age. I'm sure you are aware there weren't any dragons in medieval times? I'm sure you never thought twice about them in your consideration for "immersion."

The sad thing about threads like this is that no one sane is going to fall for the troll, but the bigots are going to come out of the woodwork and use it as an excuse to rage.

Besides this is not about who represents who as the importance of the game-saving the world is.

"Sorry Advisors, cannot save the world right now, gotta throw a Pride Parade through Denerium's Market Square."

(Rolls eyes)

What is that whooshing sound?

josephine isn't indian, she's antivan.  antiva is based on medieval italy.

also, morrigan isn't a leader, she's more of an advisor/consultant.

fail harder

Josephine is quite obviously a middle-eastern person. You're mad if you think they based her on an italian...

Guys, are we really trying to figure out where a person is from based on their skin color?

And Italians have light, olive skin. I dated one. Josephine looks very much of the Indian/Equatorial descent.

You dated an Italian? Really? Wow, that is soooo cool. Good job!

To hijack this thread, was anyone else a bit disappointed that there wasn't a gay male NPC we could interact with? I mean, lesbians got Celene and Briala, Ritts and her mage lover, and even two soldiers in the Exalted Plains, yet the most gay males got NPC-wise were a bunch of negligible couples in the Winter Palace. I realize that lesbians are more socially accepted than gay guys, but I don't think including just a couple of interactable gay NPCs would've been THAT devastating, especially with Dorian's Inner Circle quest and him hooking up with Iron Bull being a thing.

Why are people so much more fascinatyed by sexual orientation than the storyline or gameplay?

Also, Josie is totally antivan!
