In context to this thread.
I'm Jewish, why there are no Jewish npcs in the game or on the war table?

I'm still waiting for the Puerto Ricans to show up. The trickster whim in DA:O is not good enough.

It's pretty obvious that Dwarves represent Jews. Secular people who are savvy with money and have a rich history.  But they dont really have much to do with the inquisition.

Because nothing says 'cool' like irrational angry white dudes that need to bath and get a hair cut, amirite?

and here we see the flip side of the coin

But then again bigots do love to fake SJWs posts so other bigots can have a field day and pretend they aren't nasty little people.

Seriously, if anyone actually read that and their first reaction was a knee jerking "damn those diversity SJW types!" then you need to take some time out of your life and do some self reflection.

In a corner. With a dunce cap on.

then you go to tumblr and all of a sudden it becomes a lot less hard to be against "diversity SJW types"

And Italians have light, olive skin. I dated one. Josephine looks very much of the Indian/Equatorial descent.

Sorry, but I have to laught at this. We Italian have very varied skin/hair/eye colour. Even in south Italy, where usually people have more of the classic mediterran colours, there are many, many blonde light eyed persons, thanks to Norman invasions.

Italy had a lot of invasions and contact with very differents counties in the past, so we are very varied in this departmant.

I just have to look in my family: I'm a brunette with dark hair and eyes, my cousins, brother and sister: one is blonde with gray eyes, the other is a red head with brown eyes and frecles.

Is quite idiotic and stereotipical, and always make me laught when people try to define how an Italian should be regarding skin colour and hair/eyes. (mostly because is an absurd steotype of south italian)

I don't think you understand, as the OP knows, every single Italian looks like this:  :D

Seriously though, this site is quite fascinating on the stereotypes,

recognising that they are idiotic:

None of which I might add has very much to do with DAI !

Can confirm, dad's side is of Sicilian descent and he has darker skin while his brother has lighter skin.

And it won't stop people from using obvious troll threads as opportunities to crow against people asking for representation.  And, thus, the circle is complete.

Just being clear....Not targeting Gays, women, or Trans. What I'm talking about are the nut jobs who will weave a entire new gender or orientation to be a special snowflake and look for reasons to be offended.

You are right, I keep forgetting.
So Josephine... does she have moustaches? Maybe a little... Hence you are right, Antivans *are* based off Italians after all.
Thanks for settling it for me.

...

Seriously, though, I think the merchant side of Antiva fits rather well the depiction of a Reinassance Spain. Or maybe it's just that I'm Italian and I fail to see the resemblance for personal reasons.

Yeah, I'm just tired of both sides.  To be honest, BSN has become much more toxic in the past two months.  It's reminding me of a few years ago when it was really bad.  There has been an increase of people who have just been awful and dismissive of anything that represents "social justice" and it's made me almost dread coming here.  They are not interested in actual conversation, for the most part; they are interested in humiliating, denigrating, and dismissing people and then have the audacity to insinuate that they are being 'oppressed'.  I can't honestly imagine how anyone on these boards can deny how toxic this community is to minorities.  It's sickening and it's making me not want to visit the boards anymore.  I'd rather just discuss the game, but I have to run across multiple posts every single day that are pretty damned awful (about gender, sexuality, race, etc.) and make me feel like ****.  It's a shame, to be honest.  I'm just tired.

Honestly, not to beat a dead horse, I just blame this new age Progressiveness. Where people are more aggressive about promoting it, and attack anyone who has even the slightest differences with extreme prejudice. Like they come to the conclusion that the only way to fight hatred and bigotry is with our own hatred and bigotry. Thus all the annoying CIS gender stuff got stared.

And I blame this new age of "Meninists" (and hyper conservative 'gamergaters') and their nonsense.  Where they think that because they have also struggled in their life, any claims of societal inequality are not only dismissed, but openly mocked with the intention of humiliating people into silence.  It makes me sick to read it.

It creates this perpetuating cycle of toxicity.  Of course it's the extremes that are the issue.  There just seems, particularly on BSN, to be an influx of that particular extreme that makes being on the boards unpalatable.  Especially as they, literally, "LOL" and "Luv you, bro" each other as they are belittling people.

I was able to recreate Ming-Na Wen fairly accurately in the CC. You just have to have good references and be ready to spend about 1-2 hours tweaking.

I saw that actually, and to be honest, she looks quite like Ming na Wen, which is great, you did a good job, but any asian person who wants to play a decent looking asian character has to take hours trying to get it to look right, and not just look like a Caucasian with vague Asian features, while the rest of us can get a face that looks half decent in minutes. The CC was made to depict Caucasians and Africans because that's what's popular in America. Simple as that.

Aaannd I'm off topic, but the topic is dumb so who cares. :P

I've noticed this becoming really unpleasant lately. I've mostly stopped responding to those threads, since it seems pointless, but then if everyone does that who's there to disagree? (I report anything that seems like it's actually breaching the TOS, of course.)

Fingers crossed the pendulum will swing back in the other direction eventually.

If I were Bioware I will completely stop talking about sexuality in any of my games. Let the players figure it out on their own if they wish to go that route.

All my marketing efforts will go into promoting gameplay and story.

And I thought social justice was a good thing.

Actually daveliam, I find your posts interesting, I do hope your frustration doesn't drive you away.

Oh, by the way... following this topic was fairly irrelevant as that ship sailed long ago,

I'm quite happy to just have a pleasant conversation with sensible BSNers before lock.

So, back to 'off-topic':

One of the problems with the recent 'justice' controversies, which I won't air here, or I will fall under moderator scrutiny for whipping up issues,

is that it emboldens bigotry in the belief that others can talk about it so it's ok..

The result of that is that I see things posted (often on youtube actually more than BSN)

where I think:

Really?
You typed that on a public board?

And you think that's ok?

Angry Joe's review of DAI was staggering in respect of the vile unpleasantness of the comments thread,

and nearly 2,000,000 people watched that vid.

(I won't link it here, but it's easy to find)

But on the internet we are largely anonymous.

We can say the most awful things and feel invulnerable.

This last post of Anaemia's is very interesting

If I were Bioware I will completely stop talking about sexuality in any of my games. Let the players figure it out on their own if they wish to go that route.

All my marketing efforts will go into promoting gameplay and story.

because:

All the press attention about Dorian which followed BioWare simply mentioning his orientation in a list of character characteristics

makes one feel that just leaving the romance options for people to discover and to not have any discussion of orientation re: DAI is the best thing to do,

yet I would hate Bioware to feel they can't publicise legitimate facets of their game due to bigotry,

that's a very dangerous road to go down.

Of course there are liberals who ask for ridiculous things. But the OP is clearly a troll, and a rather amateurish one at that. If they were for real, they'd be talking about David Gaider's transmisogyny. (Or something. I tend to skim past those posts on Tumblr.)

(There are plenty of things BioWare deserves criticism for, including imperfect representation of minority groups, but despite being a leftist and an Evol Feminist, I'm no more likely to agree with the average witless Tumblr rant about Dragon Age 's failings than an average rant about how Inquisition is pandering to the gays and it's all Anita Sarkeesian's fault somehow.)
