I have to admit that one of my favorite things about DA:I was diversity. The War Table was the place where the leaders of inquisition gathered. At the core of Inquisition were five people:

Cassandra: White female, straight

Liliana: White female, bi

Josephine: Indian female, bi

Morrigan: White, straight

Cullen: White, straight

Besides a representative of the african american descend, who is missing? A gay person. I think for a game that is constantly praised for being all inclusive, emitting a gay leader is quite a shame. I'm sincerely hoping that BioWare will resolve this concern through a patch or a DLC.

When there's a group of only five people, hundreds of minorities are left out...not just the gay community.

And when that fact gets forgotten, I think it's time to say political correctness has gone too far.

How the hell would you like them to fix that?  Have hundreds of leaders of the inquisition all crammed around the war table so that every group out there under the sun can feel included?  I notice four out of five of those leaders are female...yet you don't hear me calling for equal representation of the sexes!  Because that would be ridiculous.  Where's the oriental representation?  The transgender?  The black population? (seriously, there are more people with dark complexions than just Americans, you know?)

Bioware is one of the most inclusive developers out there.  Trying to shame them into doing better is shameful in itself.

Ok, I'm confused:

Leliana: Established character, is bisexual, but not available.

Cass: Hetero and available, and is also an established character.

Cullen: Established character, hetero.

Josie: New Character, is bisexual and available for romancing.

Morrigan: Established character, hetero and not available.

Of the three NPCs that are always at the War Table, two are bisexual, to one heterosexual. If the OP is concerned about gay representation, did he/she/it not roll a gay Inquisitor?

Since it's not even possible to represent every possible demographic at the War Table, why isn't the OP making sure he/she/it's adequately represented? Since 2/3 of our full time advisors represent the LGBT community, what's the real issue here?

Lets try to keep things civil here, people. No point in insults. This is a thread of peaceful democracy, a call for a gay representative on the Inquisition's leadership. Besides, it makes little sense to leave out a gay rep, plot wise. Like, if I was a gay soldier (I'm straight IRL btw, but if I roleplay a female she's always lesbian), I would want someone who understands my issues up there at the map, calling shots. "No Inquisitation with out representation!".

So Leliana and Josephine are definitely poly/pan.

I wonder, since Cassandra and Cullen, while attracted to one sex, are attracted to multiple races, does that make them polysexual?

These are the random things I think about. :b

Who gives a (blank) about this?  Maybe nobody.  If it's a troll thread, then why do people come here to debate that topic and cry foul if it's not to their like/interest?  Just go to another forum page.  Why lock good/constructive debate?

It's a troll thread people. Jeez. I can't believe how many people are falling for this.

I know its a troll thread I just see to many posts like this thread on the internet that are 100% serious and I had to mini rant. I like having my sexuality/skin color/gender getting representation as much as the next guy.

But people are starting to act like their has to be an exact equal amount of everything or its some kind of conpiracy against what ever group.

 its rustling my jimnies

The OP is true in his/her beliefs.  He just wants a fair representation at a table....?  Wait, was that all you wanted?  Damn...I can probably get you a gay guy if you want to sit at your table and you can both sword fight.

I have to ask, just what is it, on the War Table, that can adversely affect the sexuality of a soldier in the Inquisition? Are they going to try to be excused from combat due to sexuality, and so want a rep that won't send 'em out to fight?

Good, constructive debate on the subject.  Um, no.  Unlike some folks, I feel like the BSN is capable of having interesting and engaging dialogue about subjects such as sexuality, gender, social construct and other such topics.  To be honest, in the last 14 months that I've been active on the BSN, I will happily say that I've learned a lot on various subjects.  Many times, it's because someone will bring something/someone up, which in turn motivates me to learn and I end up educating myself on something I never knew about before.

This?  This is a troll thread meant to mock and demean requests for representation in Dragon Age games.  This is meant to be dismissive of such things.   It's pretty easy to do when it someone doesn't find it their problem.  Been a lot of that going around lately, which is why I've been mostly lurking over the last month or so.

Oh, just wait until some of these folks meet Mae.  I hope she's a companion in the next game.   :D

It's just that this gane is out of whack with modern day society, and that ALL previous DA games were.  The games were enjoyable and playable and we didn't worry about this crap.  Now we have to I guess, because some stuff was taken out and some stuff was inserted.

Tell me about it, their portrayal of the economic and political situations that would inevitably arise in a Medieval styled society is simply dreadful

@Natashina - That's your opinion.  In that I read a lot of variable and generalities.  A lot of suppositions and you might be a mind reader.  Just read the words and then interpret.  Don't come with your own preconceptions.

A gay adviser might have skills/knowledge that only a gay man/woman in thedas possesses. Such aptitude would give a fresh perspective for War Table mission. In additions, as a soldier I would feel personally feel better.

This argument is extremely invalid. For one thing, LGBTQ rights aren't exactly a big campaign going on in Thedas, and definitely not something the Inquisition is handling. If Leliana is pan or polysexual, who cares? It doesn't change how she makes decisions. Not to mention that the Inquisitor is the one who is calling the shots at all times.

I'm asexual, but I'm not upset that there aren't any asexuals in the government (partially because asexuals represent 1% of the population so it's not a realistic expectation). It has nothing to do with it. I mean, I'm never going to have sex since I think it's gross, but I still support the right for a person to have an abortion. Sexual and romantic preferences, gender identity, etc. have little to do with political views aside from wanting equality. Using this argument IRL is iffy, but especially for the Dragon Age world it's ridiculous.

Wait what? That only a gay person possesses? I can be exactly the same as someone else except for my sexual orientation (or in my case, lack-there-of). What knowledge are we talking about? Is that dude/chick hot enough to have gay sex with?

Such as what? So now, it's not that the LGBT community should be equal, but that they are somehow superior? Anyone that's truly concerned about this can take control of the situation, and fix it, by rolling a gay Inquisitor. Problem solved, instead of trying to represent every possible demographic out there in that little bitty room.
