Is there any schematic or upgrade in the world that doesn't slap a giant metal arm on Solas when you apply it?  It really doesn't fit with any of his tunic and fur armors (and my mage is jealous he gets to wear actual cloth).  No matter what I've tried upgrading his armors with, BAM, giant metal cyborg arm.  Poor skinny lil guy looks like he's about to topple over sideways.

 

I see some significant variation in the T3 upgrade pieces for the other companions - Blackwall and Cassandra come to mind - and there are also rogue and mage-armor upgrades that take the "universal leather trenchcoat" mages and rogues both wear, and differentiate them a bit (like the fur shoulder for mages vs. the mail sections for rogues).  But everything I've found looks like Cyborg Arm on Solas.

The "mail" variants don't have the armor.

Battlemage Mail arms give him fur wraps on the upper arms, which is pretty neat. Sadly, the corresponding Battlemage Mail legs give him moccasins, which feels so wrong.

Prowler mail?  Isn't that an upgrade for medium armor?  I'm pretty sure my Rogue uses the Prowler T3 stuff.  (Although I can't stand the giant metal gauntlets, I don't understand this obsession with "slap giant metal bits on everything."  Who the hell could fire a bow or sneak around wearing those?)

 

Edit: I am both relieved that I'm not totally misremembering, and sad that this means Solas is stuck with Cyborg Arm for the rest of his days.  /sigh
