Hey Bioware & Community!

I just wanted to ask if there is anyway that the future of mass effect was going to support

a land and air vehicle. Since yall are bringing back exploration of planet's. I would like to be

the first to say please allow the mako to covert from a land vehicle to also a air vehicle aswell.

So if player's don't want to drive around the planet we can fly around and have a better view

of the planet's layout and terrain. But the air coversion should only be allowed once the mako

has been upgraded. This way not everyone will just straight away fly around to run through

exploring fast. Reason for this is to allow players to capture the beauty in the terrain and the world

around. Or of other mean's the mako can be upgraded to be playable once a player has beaten the game.

To do this players need to (while) playing through campaign mode. To buy all the different parts needed

to have the mako compatible to fly. So you might stop at a store on another planet or find a part located at a side mission on some off world that one of your crew members could use to do so. But the catch here is in able to have full conversion you have to beat the game. You will come across a part in the last mssion that you will have to pick up or find. Once you have beaten the game you can continue your quest like Mass Effect 2 supported. Continue of gameplay once main story has been completed. This will allow you to either

finish the game to get this part and then continue to finish side missions or you may have the ability to playthrough the campaign again with the upgrades carried over. But to do this you must either choose the following options after beating the main game.

Mako Upgrade Parts -

Fuel pod - can buy fuel from mechanic crew member.

Ground Fire - can buy turrents from shop or a pick up item

Extra Parts Needed at biowares idea - pick up items or bought through vendors throughout the universe or galaxy.

Jet purpulsion - end game pick up item <~ Finishing part

Message will pop up and ask you 3 questions after congrating you on beating the new mass effect story.

examples -

1. Continue playthrough with all upgrades available - allows you to do side quest if you did not complete while playing through storyline - but that is it. no restart option avaliable

2. Restart fresh game with all upgrades carried over but all missions and side mission apart from mako upgrades will be reset.

3. Start a fresh game with all upgrades and missions reset.

These are just an idea of what I am trying to get at but im sure bioware or yall get the idea of what I am trying to get at with the idea.

Thanks for listening to this idea. Hope yall like it. I think it would be a great improvement for the exploration idea of the game.

-Edit-

The Flying option is a secondary option only for those who want it and those who dont can travel on land at there own free will. There has been 3 mass effect games. It's time for air mobility. You get the idea.

If the Mako (or whatever the new vehicle is called) looks and functions the same as we saw in some of that teaser footage, it looks like it is going to be ground rover. It's got tires like the original Mako.

I don't see the Mako being able to do that, nor do I think I want it to. It can so easily dispel the magic when you have easy access to every inch of terrain. Plus, how can they limit you to the area they build for the Mako in a believable way? It would ruin immersion if you were able to fly around but suddenly hit an invisible wall because they can't actually build an entire planet.

The only way I see your idea working is if you're able to do smaller upgrades to the Mako, like higher speed, better thrusters and such, enabling you to get to new areas you couldn't reach before. Even then I'm not sure I'd prefer that over the simpler way of just exploring to your heart's content.

Air vehicle has a problem of being boring when exploring empty landscapes. The roughness of a terrain does not have any effect on it and you don't have to pay attention to it when flying, unlike a ground vehicle. Air vehicle also requires extra animations for landing if you want to get out of it.

I prefer a ground vehicle but I also hope for a plethora of upgrades to it. Different kinds of guns, armor, paint, steering, thrusters, eezo core - all interconnected and affecting one another.

Im just saying have it as a secondary option. Just for people who dont want to drive around.

If u can take a shuttle around from planet to planet. I think it is perfect to have the option to fly around

the planet surface at your own free will to do objectives.

3 mass effect games and still no flying vehicles. Its time for one.

Well in a since I honestly liked the original mako. Just wish the boost on it was at all times instead of temp.

being someone who has always enjoyed flying, I'd be down with this.  however, as opposed to simply used for mobility, make it more useful in that we'd use this ability with weapons for some air-air and/or air-ground combat.  I know plenty of folks do not want this, but i'd be okay with it.  space magic!!

For planet exploration, I am skeptical. As Vazgen has pointed out, flying over barren landscapes (as a lot of planets would have to be) is rather boring. I wouldn't mind i you could upgrade the new Mako for hovering/short range flight/long jumps with the boosters though, just for some extra mobility.

In principle, I would love to see some freelancer-ish space flight & fight with a small fighter like craft but only if it were to be implemented really well. But then, I also want a new Freelancer for a long time, so something like this maybe a little bit too much to ask as a mere addition to a Mass Effect game. If push comes to shove,I'd rather they focus on nailing down the core ME gameplay perfectly with the new engine, rather than adding too much to it..

P. S.: Thread title should be about moving upward, not forward, no? ;)

No one is getting the idea of this lol.

I'm not saying all you do is just fly around looking stupid. I am saying allow you to convert the mako to fly off and onto planets from your ship.

Instead of another lame loading screen. Like how the new version in ME2 was the hovercraft was awesome. <~ that idea.

But instead of this one just hovering. Its intended to fly if ((you choose to do so)). <~ the option

I prefer to be able to land my ship and ride out in a Mako. Imagine if ME3 Normandy landed and there was a Mako inside the cargo bay. You get down in an elevator, activate weapon bench, armor console if needed, open the cargo bay and ride out in a Mako.

Mass Effect > Transformers.

I want an air vehicle but nothing that morphs into other things, feels too 'bond' when i wanna play rambo.
