1. I never said elves weren't immortal, they obviously were, or at least some of them.

2. The point is you or anyone else saying, "You're wrong,  because this definitely is true,"  is fallacious.

Then we have nothing to discuss and this whole thing was pointless.

If you want to be dickish and ****** over semantics, do so on your own time. Just because one doesn't know every last detail doesn't mean enough of a case can't be made to say "yes, you're wrong." Especially when the topic was if they were immortal. There is no point to any of this.

A powerful being from the Fade bonded with a mortal women? Abomination. No matter how powerful. She may not be the normal type from demons, but she is one. And she ages.

"from the fade" first of all doesn't exactly mean a thing when she existed before the "fade" was really the fade. When the world was one with it. She is not akin to demons and you can't use her for your point.

You saying all elves lived forever isn't any more correct than someone saying all elves didn't until you have actual evidence to prove that person wrong. Point. EVeryone ganging up on one poster being assholish to be equally assholish isn't anymore appealing and doesn't make you anymore correct. Which:

Holy **** dude, your semantics argument does you no credit. They did live forever, as in no aging, then later this ability left them. Not a hard concept to grasp. Whether they were effected by humans or not I'm not sure.

suggests. That besides, elves died, they didn't die of aging bodies but aside from corporal immortality, all sources say they died of "aging spirits" or whatever that means. The rest about the Fade definitely being a cause, which you didn't but someone else said as a definite, is just icing on the cake.

Mythal was in the Fade for over 500 hundred years to the point Flemeth was born. By the point of DA. she had the power Solas needed from her. She still aged. Even then, we have no evidence of abominations never aging. Dryden, the closest thing, is a possessed corpse. Not an abomination.

Our concept of gravity is a theory. For humans to go around and claim they understand any laws of the universe... Is well.. The funniest thing I've ever heard.
If science is subjective, how can any knowledge we gather as the human race be anything but subjective to the human race?

Is an apple really ever red?

Well, technically an apple is every color but red since red is the color that is rejected and bounced off the apple while all other colors are accepted and absorbed.

First, Solas says this and he was from that time, and they did not die of old age, makes them immortal. Second, I don't really care if you have an issue with someone saying the fade definitely was the cause, that wasn't even the main point of the damn discussion, so get over it.

And finally, Mythal wasn't from the fade like a demon whether she was chilling there or not, and at this point I don't give a damn about the abomination topic because it's again, NOT THE TOPIC.

The ONLY reason you came in here bitching about semantics is because you saw ELVES and just had to say something, just like the rest of the chuckleheads that get their panties in a twist over anything ever remotely elven. Get over it.

Hi! :)

Bioware hasn't made a statement or anything, its just obvious his story isn't done. You don't reveal yourself to be a god, kill one of the most popular characters, leave for mysterious unknown reasons, and then not get more content!

The only question is whether the content will be DLC or a new game. I'm pretty sure it'll be DLC because a new protagonist would be unfair to the people who romanced him.

Thank you for replying! I hope it is DLC. I have serious Solas withdrawal.

Didn't get enough hugs I take it?

They are indeed dying with the way the Dalish are going about it, but their demise isn't inevitable.

Banal Nadas as Solas would say!

Is it bait?or is it the amber liquid at the bottom of a glass? or perhaps it is the truth within a truth, that is a lie, within a truth, that cannot lie, but is also a truth?

Oh wait, i know its that blasted toothfairy!

The truth within a truth that is a lie within a truth that cannot lie but is also a truth...

The answer is an opinion ;)

naw dawhg, i'm pretty surre the cold hard truth, is a fact within fiction, that is a truth disguised as a lie, under the guise of an opinion.

Eggception

(just to clarify I am a Solas fan so I'm sorry.  But not really)

Solas might be arrogant (or dick, depends on your perspectives), but at least he does know better and has the ability to comprehend others' views, while some characters apprentaly......well, don't.

Solas is just what he's been programmed to say.  A boring, lifeless cog within a lifeless game.

We all know why people are interested in Solas. It's because of that ending that revealed who he really is. The guy is a hot topic for theories and speculation and when people have free time (which seem like some have alot of it nowadays.) he'll always be brought up. To me, I see the guy as a trickster and sort of full of himself.

I'd call Cassandra my flavor of the month but her character is so good, she's become more of a way of life.

Yup, that's the only reason. Nailed it.

Before DAI came out it was Doria this and Cassandra that. Now it seems that Solas is the new "it" character. Dorian was always the favorite mage before release, now it is Solas. Scribbles, Cullen, Cassandra were the goto romances, now it is Solas. Solas this Solas that Solas DLC Solas in DA4 and so on.

I know about his "reveal" but he is is a bland and "full of himself" character. So how long will this Solas fad last?

Most of the mania for certain characters pre-release was based on the small snippets of info available (as well as their appearances). Now that everyone has played the game and experienced these characters in full, I think many players have come to the conclusion that Solas is one of the most interesting characters in the game due to the many fascinating revelations that we learn from him/about him regarding the nature of ancient elves, the fade and the gods. Unlike Tali in ME1, he combines being an information dispenser with a well defined and interesting personality: he is generally cool and rational but sometimes exhibits a quick temper and prejudices, particularly towards any individuals or organisations that act on instinct rather than contemplation and which stifle freedoms in some way. Add to that the fact that he has a good voice actor and it's understandable why he is such a popular character.

How do you know that?

The reason we know that Flemeth definitely ages is because aside from being a powerful mage and having some unique gifts due to her connection with Mythal, her human host is entirely mortal. If her host body was immortal, why would she need to pass on Mythal's essence to her daughters?

(Morrigan also mentions in Origins remembering Flemeth as having dark hair and looking like her when she was younger, showing that her current form has definitely aged over the years).

Presumably, Mythal's essence also passes on the memories of each host to the next, hence why each incarnation still feels the sting of betrayal and desire for revenge held by the original Flemeth, as well as being aware of the events she'd been witness to over the past millennia or so? At this point, she's probably akin to something like Dax from Star Trek: DS9, where each incarnation takes the name "Flemeth" after joining with Mythal?

We don't know for sure that she does. That was Morrigan's interpretation of the Grimoire. Abominations don't age, so why should she? I think she's choosing how she appears. We've already seen that she can do that.

There's no evidence that abominations don't age normally? The only example I can think of that could qualify is the Baroness who's been one for a few decades, but it makes more sense that the Pride Demon was merely assuming her form (like Kitty, who probably didn't possess a cat), rather than actually possessing her original body?

While Flemeth can appear how she chooses, why would she have had so many daughters according to the legends, if not to pass on Mythal's essence to? Having a bunch of backup vessels seems pointless if she's immortal and in no danger of losing Mythal anytime soon?

The only ones we know of are Morrigan and Yavana, right? Other than that, it's a legend.

True, they are the only two that we know about for certain, but the legend of Flemeth and her daughters is known in both Ferelden and Antiva (and presumably other places), which would imply that it's got some basis in truth?
