If anyone's looking for another mesh or texture to tinker with, I will love you forever and send you cookies* if you could do something about how the Tier 3 "light" armors on Solas give him Giant Metal Cyborg Arm. I don't know if this is possible, but maybe even just retexturing it to look more leather or something might reduce the jarring look.
If that doesn't work, then might as well just add an autocannon to it or something 
* cookies may be virtual in nature and/or not actually exist
