They'll figure something out.

Meanwhile I'll be scrolling past single player and heading straight to multiplayer.

Why skip the SP? There's bound to be some decent pew pew in it and a dumb plot that you can later make fun of with the rest of us here on BSN.

Nah.

Didn't read but I agree with my cranium accessory here.

I actually made that joke to a friend. The ultimate power fantasy, you just clobber everything into submission for 30 hrs.

Lol the joke is that shepard is more deadly than the reapers and that no matter the case, shepard wins.

I like how The Witcher does it, you are free to play that game how you like but at the end of the day there is a canon.

Since when does TW do it this way?

Is that really why you play ME/Bioware games? So you can mock them?

Among other things, yes. I stopped taking them seriously between ME2/3 and DA2.

I've laughed pretty hard over ME2's "Space Terminator" and DA2's "Frankenmom" (i'm cracking up while typing this as I think of them).

Interestingly enough, one of ME's best selling DLC, Citadel, does a great job of not taking itself so seriously and just having fun. That's why I think rebooting the series without the Reapers (or Shephard) would be interesting, because they can take a lot of the inherent overly-serious nature of things out of the equation.

I have a hunch that they don't have much of anything for ME4. The last few years all they've released are vague "concept trailers" with people talking about how great ME4 is looking... and not actually showing us. Couple that with the fact Casey Hudson left not long after the last trailer and it tells me that Bioware don't have jack squat for ME4.

They wrote themselves into a corner with ME3, and now they've got nowhere to go with it. They need to just hang up the spurs on the whole series.

They'd be better off going the Borderlands space camp route that's for sure or just making it purely Gears of War with casting (writing a serious consistent and coherent story with tangible choices is not their forte).

Wouldn't surprise me if it ends up being another Duke Nukem Forever or Aliens: Colonial Marines(ie a game that should be cancelled).

Why wouldn't you make a sequel to the most successful Mass Effect game?

Anyways these games were cheesy schlock to begin with, so I will agree with the posters above that any future games should be fun, not serious, and certainly not tryhard, grimderp nonsense like ME3.

Not sure what you mean, unless you're saying that the fact that TW isn't on consoles means there's a canon.

After Shepard's evident indoctrination towards and through  the ending of  ME3, Galaxy had nobody left to save it. Reapers reaped. Next cycle is around half way through. Player is an  archaeologist of some yet-to-be-seen space elf race or another.  Beef of the game is exploring ruins and fading echoes of the world that we came to know  in first trilogy. Player Character becomes aware of Reapers but game isn't about stopping them. Gameplay borrows more from Last of Usthan it does from MEs.

LOL no. What I meant was I did not know that The Witcher had a save import feature.

Indoctrination could have been such an amazing concept. I'm not just taking about IT and the ME3 ending, but as a part of the story. Seeing enemies everywhere, not knowing who to trust, being suspicious of even your own team... instead, it just became a one-way path to stupid-evel. That's no fun.
