Hey, my Dalish femquisitor looked like an adult. Maybe a little heavy on the blue eyeliner, but adult nonetheless.
Why do people make their dalish females look like 13 y/o girls?

For a person who does not like the pretext of this thread you seem to be very active in it along with a few others.
Yes, as you continue to point out, I do like to make my male and female characters in DA/Mass Effect to look as if they are 30+ years old. The older I get in real life the more I like my characters to reflect a similar image of myself. When I was 16 years old there would be no way in the world I would create someone who looks 30+.
Now as for me acting like I am superior because I create 30+ yo women, well I am sorry but that is your own perception, just like it may be my own perception that many older dudes purposely try to create younger looking women. At least with my perception/opinion I created a thread about it, asking as to why that is....to educate myself beyond my own narrow view. Yes, I have said it is a bit weird for a grown man to want their character to look under 18 because it is, but I never explicitly called anyone a pedophile. If I have, please go back and find the quote.
I just wanted to get that off my chest. I know you will disagree with this and I know you will point out deficiencies of my post. That is the purpose of an open forum, where varied opionions and expressions are laid out and debated. I for one do not care if people agree with me or not, as long as there is a sound and respectful discussion.
Thank you
For someone who supposedly wants to know the answer to a question, you sure do ignore those answers and keep reiterating that "I make 30+ year old women really!" Don't give me that "where did I directly call anyone a pedophile" BS, you know what an implication is, you've made many of them in this thread, including in this post. "Yes, I have said it is a bit weird for a grown man to want their character to look under 18 because it is" why is it weird? You haven't said anything about it being weird for a human player to play an elf, dwarf or qunari. You haven't said it's weird for a white human to play a black human so it's obviously not a case of "everyone should play a character exactly like their real life selves", why do you keep hinting that people (men specifically, not subtle there) who want to play a younger character are "weird?" I don't now if you really are projecting your own fascination with young girls, and personal struggle not to look at them onto the player base, or if you're a troll of epic proportions. My mind is blown however that this thread remains open.

It's all a part of Bioware's war on nice eyebrows. Maybe they killed someone's father?

Maybe.

If thats your thing....
I personally prefer women who look like women and not someone who looks like they just graduated from drivers ed. Then again, I am 29 and I will be 30 years old this year. I understand that there are a lot of younger (13-18) gamers here who may find the adolescent type attractive.
I just wanted to understand from someone who is 20+ to explain why they prefer for their characters to look like they could be a middle school girl.
You don't get much choice with Dalish women. Their short frames lead to a more childish appearance and frankly, the more mature head designs are often ugly.

I think that it is partially a quirk of the CC for elves. You kinda have to work against the CC to make a female elf that doesn't look young, imo. Recently, I tried to do just that. Not sure if I succeeded or not. Take a look: http://i.imgur.com/u9xBMyl.png.
NICE!
Not only is that the first successful attempt at an elf that looks over 30 but she's also more masculine than 95% of male elves I've seen.
That wasn't a back handed compliment I actually unironicaly meant all of that.

Well if you are serious then I agree. I still think that that many problems would be solved if players explored the complexion options more often instead of going with the option furthest to the left. This option is popular because it gives not only the more youthful look but the skin is ultra smooth looking with zero imperfections. Exploring other options adds age, skin spots, wrinkles and so on. This is also true with Mass Effect and I only see this with female characters (elf, dwarf, and human) whereas I see more variety in the male characters in terms of the young --- old scale.

Who cares? It's a single player game. People are free to create their characters however they see fit. It's no one's business.
I agree I tend to give a lot of my characters in Bioware's games a young pretty look when I play as a female in fact my last Shepard and my first Inquisitor I gave a very similar look. Mostly because I based my Inquisitor off my last femshep. I do enjoy playing with both male and female characters though. I'm playing as a male shep in my current run. Although having said that my Inquisitor was human not an elf. My next inquisitor is likely to be an elf though.
Here's a look at my last femshep

Here's a look at my first Inquisitor

When you stop and think about this thread for a sec it just seems so ridiculous the mind boggles. Being guilt tripped for what you prefer your fictional not-even-human character to look like. And it seems to be working which is just the weirdest part of this whole equation.

I don't feel guilty I like the way my characters look and I think that's important as you are going to be spending the better part of 100 hours or so at least in their company each time you take on a new playthrough. I admit that I don't tend to play around with the settings too much as they tend to look uglier the more I do it. I mostly go with one of the default heads and just change the hair and lip colour most of the time and leave it at that. I play some more with it if I want my character to look different but I do mostly go with the basic head and face settings aside from that.

You know, next time around I'll see if I can make my Dalish Quizzy look like she's 8! And I'll be thinking of you while doing so, OP. With great respect.
I should make a new playthrough with a Dwarf and see if I can make her look 5!

I do not know the age of most of you guys so if you are 11-16 then perhaps you may find that stuff attractive, but by looking at threads and people posting their female elfs, the vast majority of them look....adolescent. Again, if that is your thing that that is your own business. However, it just seems like people always go with the furthest left option under the complexion tab in CC which normally results in the most "youthful" looks. I like to dab further into the complexion options to create more "mature" looking women that are in their mid-30s at minimal. Hell, for my next character a female mage elf, I will give her a bit of an aging appearance to make her look like she is at least in her 40s.
So yeah, is western society that anti-aging/anti-older women that people are willing for their female characters to appear like they are in the 7th grade?
Haven't had a chance to play this game yet, and I have no idea which race I would play first. However, in this topic you have an underlying premise that assumes people who play RPGs are creating their character for some kind of sex appeal reason, or that everyone must only play characters they find attractive.
Some may do this, but I would imagine there must be many other folks out there like me who simply do not feel attracted to the CGI pixels, and do not care about making their own character into some sort of sexy stripper.
In my case, I grew up playing pen and paper RPGs and enjoy playing wildly different characters with very different appearance and stats. Male, female, old, young, skinny, fat, etc - I will replay the game several times, also trying all the different races and class specializations, etc.
