Hello, everyone. I'd like to know how much nice I can be to my companions in order to have their liking but not engaging in intercourse with them, please.

I am new, sorry, it must be obvious to everyone here... I am thinking that if they like me to a certain extent, I can make their personal quests, right? But how far can I be nice to them in order to have them to do but not having to get involved with them as like that?

Also, can I romance more than one character in a playthrough?

How I miss the affection bar from DA2...

Uhm, as far as I know, a romance with a character doesn't start if you never click the dialogue options with a "heart" icon, no matter how nice or not you are to them (same ad DA2, basically). If you wish to simply be friends with a character, avoid clicking the "heart" options when talking to him/her and no romance should trigger with that character.

And by doing this, am I going to lose their personal quests or something else, other than the romance?

You won't lose their personal quests, just the romance ones (example: if you're friends with Sera you'll get her personal quest that triggers when you gain enough approval, but you won't get the "find her a gift" quest because that's tied to her romance plot, and so on for all the characters who are love interests).

You can flirt with as many people as you like in one plaything though you can only start one romance. If you wish to romance someone else you must end the previous romance first. If you have reached the committed part of the relationship though, you are permanently locked out of starting a romance with any one else.

I see. Thank you, Artemis, you were a big help.

Edit:

Wiccame, I just read about this you said somewhere else before posting here. I also read this:

"No, you cannot. While you can proceed down the romance storyline for multiple characters, going far enough will prompt an event where you are forced to choose one."

What event was that person talking about?

EDIT 2:

I understand that this kind of question is often asked, and so I beg for forgiveness. But asking a few questions regarding this, we can find good people, like you two, that can provide information without major spoilers.

For example, I went on a search on my own about romances, I was being careful to not spoil anything, but then I get to this wiki page (yeah, I should have expected this) http://dragonage3.wi...ife.com/romance and found what will happen to Haven in the Future.

But wasn't really an issue, because I was guessing this much. I listened to a guard talking to another there that "it would be good to have a kind of defense if they were to suffer an attack" and someone else also said something about Haven being target at some time.

but, oh well...

Thank you everyone and I've found my answers there (along with spoilers). I like this community.

You're welcome. :)

Edit: also, no need to apologize, forums exist for a reason. ^^

You can actually also flirt with Vivienne as a female inquisitor.

When you ask her "What about you and me...?" she will answer "No, but thanks for asking" if you have a high approval.

On low approval she will say "Definetely not!".

Basically you can flirt with anyone. But eventually you will get an option to start a romance with someone, if you take it and want to romance someone else, that person will refuse until you end it with the first one, and they usually say as much. That's more likely the event described.

For example, when I was talking with Blackwall (the screenshot I posted) and I say "There's more in my quarters" he says "I.. I have to think about it.." and that is that. Does it mean that we are in a relationship? xD No, right?

That's because his approval of you isn't high enough and it's fairly early on in the flirting...he isn't ready for that yet :)

No, you're not in a relationship with him yet.

Good to know hahaha Since I woke up today, I was bothered with that lol I will give him the other responses that increase his approval about me, then. But he will remain on the friendzone, like Solas is.

Well! TIME TO PLAY! Thank you again!
